Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Tucker
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my music journey as a drummer, playing in various bands across different genres. It was an exciting time, as I got to explore a range of styles and learn the ins and outs of rhythm and dynamics. Over the years, my passion for music led me to pick up other instruments, such as piano, bass and guitar. Today, I focus mostly on creating instrumentals, blending the skills I’ve developed on all the instruments I’ve played. My sound has evolved into something that reflects both my foundation in drumming and the versatility I’ve gained from incorporating bass and guitar into my music. It’s been a rewarding journey of growth and exploration, and I’m always excited to see where it takes me next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like anything in life, there have definitely been some ups and downs along the way. But, for the most part, I’d say it’s been relatively smooth. That said, there have certainly been struggles. One of the biggest challenges has been dealing with motivation—it’s easy to go in and out of spells where you feel incredibly driven, but then those moments can fade and it takes some effort to get back on track. Another struggle has been finding the time to truly devote to music and writing, especially as you get older. Priorities shift, and as much as I’d love to spend all my time creating, the reality of paying bills and managing responsibilities becomes the main focus. Balancing those things can be tough, but I’ve learned to push through and make time for what I love.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m most known for my beat making content. I am most proud of all of my albums. What sets me apart from other producers is that I come from a different musical background. I started beat making and producing to be able to put compositions together.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is creative expression and freedom. Being able to tell a story or convey an emotion through art—particularly music—allows me to connect with others on a deeper level. Music, like all forms of art, has the power to evoke feelings and tell stories in a way that words alone cannot. It’s important to me because I believe that through creative mediums, people can connect and understand each other, even if their experiences are vastly different. The beauty of great art is that it can be interpreted in so many ways, often resonating with someone in a way that applies directly to their own life or situation. That connection, that shared experience, is what makes art so powerful.
