Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Rosser
Hi Leah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I never set out to become an operations consultant—I just had a knack for making things run smoothly. My background is in education, and for years, I thrived as a curriculum designer and instructional leader. I loved building systems that made learning more effective, more engaging, and more accessible. But what I didn’t realize at the time was that I wasn’t just designing educational experiences—I was designing operational frameworks.
As my career evolved, I found myself leading teams, streamlining processes, and stepping into operational roles where my ability to organize chaos became my superpower. I spent years in the trenches of business operations and people management, eventually serving as Director of Operations & HR for a fast-growing communications firm. There, I faced the same struggles so many business owners do—constant inefficiencies, scattered processes, and team burnout. But I also saw firsthand how the right systems and structures could turn things around.
It wasn’t just about making a business more organized—it was about giving business owners back their time, their sanity, and their ability to focus on what they loved. I became obsessed with solving operational problems, not just for one company, but for all the businesses out there that were drowning in their own growth.
That’s when Out of the Box Ops was born.
I built this business on the belief that entrepreneurs shouldn’t feel shackled by their own success. Growth should feel freeing, not suffocating. Today, I work with business owners and leaders to create operations that work for them, not against them—streamlining systems, optimizing team workflows, and building sustainable, people-centered processes.
But beyond the work, my why is deeply personal. I’m a mom, a wife, and a soon-to-be mother of three. My life is full of school drop-offs, packed lunches, and late-night brainstorming sessions. I know what it means to balance ambition with family, and I believe in building businesses that don’t just succeed on paper—but actually support the lives of the people running them.
That’s what Out of the Box Ops is all about. Helping leaders reclaim their time, restore their energy, and step confidently into the next phase of their business—without the overwhelm.
So, if you’re a business owner feeling stuck in the day-to-day, drowning in operations, and longing for clarity—I see you. I’ve been you. And I’m here to help.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—but the best journeys never are. When I started Out of the Box Ops, I knew how to streamline businesses, but running my own pushed me in new ways. I had to balance wearing all the hats—strategist, marketer, and implementer—while learning to set boundaries and protect my time. Saying yes to everything wasn’t sustainable, and I had to refine my services to focus on impact, not just effort.
The unpredictability of entrepreneurship was another challenge. Navigating slow seasons, restructuring offers, and ensuring my work remained profitable required constant adaptation. And personally, balancing business and motherhood—soon to be three kids—meant building a business that worked for my life, not against it.
But every struggle reinforced what I teach my clients: success isn’t about doing more, it’s about designing better systems. The road wasn’t smooth, but it led me exactly where I’m meant to be.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What You Should Know About Out of the Box Ops
Out of the Box Ops was built on the belief that business owners shouldn’t feel trapped by their own success. Growth should bring freedom, not more overwhelm. Yet, so many leaders find themselves stuck in the weeds—managing every detail of their operations instead of focusing on their bigger vision. That’s where I come in.
I help businesses run smarter, not harder by ensuring their operations are clear, consistent, and scalable—not just organized for the sake of organization, but optimized in a way that actually supports sustainable growth. My approach is deeply rooted in motion optimization, ensuring that every tool, workflow, and system is working together cohesively—not functioning as isolated silos that add to the chaos.
What Sets Out of the Box Ops Apart?
There are plenty of people who can set up business systems. But I go deeper than that. I don’t believe in layering on more tools and software just because they seem like the latest solution. Instead, I focus on making the systems you already have work more effectively and efficiently—because a business doesn’t need more complexity, it needs more cohesion.
When we work together, I ensure that:
-Your systems flow together seamlessly, rather than functioning in isolation.
-You’re not wasting money on tools that aren’t serving you—your bottom line is always top of mind.
-We optimize what you already have, instead of throwing out existing systems just to start over.
-Your team is trained the right way to leverage your tools, so efficiency becomes second nature.
This is where I’ve developed key expertise and deep insight into operational systems. I hold affiliations with Monday.com, Motion, and ClickUp, and I’ve spent years mastering how to build and refine effective business systems for both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Whether it’s setting up project management, automating workflows, or restructuring processes, I make sure your business operations aren’t just structured—but truly optimized for efficiency and impact.

Because at the end of the day, growth shouldn’t feel harder. It should feel smarter, clearer, and simpler. And that’s exactly what I help make happen.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Ironically, I was the complete opposite of who I am today. Organization, systems, and efficiency weren’t my strengths—in fact, they were my biggest struggles.
I was always bright, placed in gifted classes, and deeply curious about the world, but I struggled heavily with focus and organization due to my ADD diagnosis. Managing schoolwork felt overwhelming, not because I didn’t understand the material, but because keeping track of everything—the deadlines, the assignments, the structure—was a constant challenge.
But in high school, something shifted. I made a decision: I wasn’t going to let ADD dictate how I functioned. I started color-coding everything, living by a planner, creating systems to help my brain process information in a way that made sense to me. My notebooks had tabs, my assignments had structured checklists, and I built out workflows that made it easier to stay on top of things. It wasn’t about forcing myself to be someone I wasn’t—it was about tailoring my environment to support the way I needed to work.
This mindset carried into my professional life. As I pursued advanced degrees, I refined my approach, designing workflows that allowed me to manage heavy workloads without feeling scattered. I realized that the key to a calm, productive life wasn’t just discipline—it was creating the right systems.
That’s exactly how I approach my work today. I help business owners build operational structures that allow them to work smarter, not harder—because I’ve lived the reality of what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, and I know firsthand that the right systems don’t just make life easier, they make success possible. Finding my own way through the chaos helped me discover my niche, and now, I help others do the same.
