Today we’d like to introduce you to Tera Chantelle
Hi Tera, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I never imagined that my journey would take me from the cold streets of Cleveland, Ohio, to the vibrant energy of Atlanta, Georgia. But when the dream calls, you answer—no matter how uncertain the road ahead may seem.
Acting had always been a quiet whisper in my heart, something I admired from afar but never fully embraced. That changed when I took my first leap onto the stage, feeling the thrill of embodying a character, stepping into a world outside of my own. That single moment lit a fire in me. I packed my bags, left behind the familiar snow-covered streets of Cleveland, and set my sights on Atlanta—a city thriving with creative energy, opportunities, and a culture that felt like a playground for storytelling.
As I immersed myself in acting, I realized something: I had my own stories to tell. The characters I played were incredible, but what about the stories I had lived, the lessons I had learned? That’s when I started writing—scripts, short films, content ideas that reflected my vision. Before I knew it, I wasn’t just acting; I was producing my own work, crafting narratives that spoke to people’s hearts.
But the journey didn’t stop there.
Through my experiences, I had developed a voice—not just as an actor or writer, but as someone with something to say. Speaking at high schools, workshops, and events, I found myself connecting with people on a deeper level. I shared my journey, my struggles, my lessons on self-love and resilience. And while the message was serious, I couldn’t help but deliver it with humor. I saw how laughter broke barriers, how it made even the toughest lessons easier to digest.
That’s when another passion called my name: stand-up comedy.
Because when you follow the call, the story writes itself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At first, the idea of getting on stage alone, with nothing but a microphone and my thoughts, was terrifying. But wasn’t that the point? If I had faced my fears before, why stop now? My motivational talks had already shown me that humor was a powerful tool—so why not take it to the next level?
I started hitting open mics, testing jokes, refining my craft. What began as a leap of faith became a new love—one that merged all my passions into one: storytelling, humor, and inspiring others. Now, whether I’m in front of a camera, behind the scenes writing a script, or on stage with a mic, it all connects. Every piece of the journey led me here, and I know it’s only the beginning.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m most proud of being my truest self, embracing my journey of self-development and spirituality with authenticity and purpose. Every step I’ve taken—whether in acting, writing, producing, stand-up comedy, or motivational speaking—has been rooted in a deep commitment to growth and self-awareness.
One of the most transformative choices I’ve made is focusing on celibacy for almost a decade. This decision has been a powerful catalyst for my creativity, allowing me to channel my energy into storytelling, artistic expression, and inspiring others. It has given me the clarity to align with my higher self, deepening my connection to my purpose.
More than anything, I’m proud of the person I’ve become—the one who walks boldly in their truth, embraces every challenge as an opportunity to evolve, and uses their voice to uplift and empower others.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Know Yourself Deeply – Spend time understanding your needs, desires, and boundaries. Journaling, meditation, and self-reflection can help you connect with your true self.
Don’t Seek External Validation – Not everyone will understand or support your choice, and that’s okay. Your journey is yours alone.
Know Your “Why” – Whether for spiritual, creative, or personal reasons, being clear on why you chose celibacy helps you stay grounded and committed.
Transmute Energy into Purpose – Celibacy is a powerful tool for channeling energy into creative expression, business, fitness, or spiritual practices. Use that energy to build the life you want.
