Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Taylor
Hi Elizabeth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Everything I do I just got up one day and was like, “Ima do this today or ima make this today”. That’s how I started modeling. That’s how I got in a wildnout episode, the Shaderoom, in music videos for Iman Shumpert, Skilla baby, Big40, Skooly, K Carbon, Zay France, Capella Grey. I will literally have no ideas, no foundation for real just figured it out and followed what I felt. I’ve done this with everything that how I’ve now started my singer artist journey. This goes from creative directing, being a nail tech, being a makeup artist, even in the bit of production/sound designing I assist with making from time to time; my song “Euphoria” for example was straight out my dome and I brought it to life the beat and words. That’s my first song ever made that no one believes is my first song. I just trust in God and I push forth and make the unimaginable happen for myself. My pain and resilience to grow from my trauma of losing my father and fiancé has honestly brought me to where I am today. I got to make them proud by any means necessary. They always knew I’d do amazing things, so I’m going to do just that till my last day on this Earth.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Modeling was a pretty easy road, but for music, no. I’ve always tried to start somewhere and it was like every time I started something would happen and I everything would just fall apart working along side the wrong team. Even working with people who don’t have faith in you or encourage you at all even though you guys are surrounded by every opportunity to start my music journey. It was just very discouraging and dishearting, but when I found my team it brought so much stuff to life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer/artist, model, makeup artist, creative director, and nail tech. I am mostly known for my modeling from being in music videos with a lot of major artists and more recently becoming a recording artist. I am most proud of how I’ve overcome my trials and not them pull me away from going after my dreams and making them a reality, I am a high-functioning creative. Anything I get my hand on I’ll always add to it never take away from it or diminish its value. People are always in love with my aesthetic as well. I strive to make everything uniquely different as I carry myself,
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Don’t dim your light to make others in the room comfortable. Shine as bright as you can and carry that with you, so it allows others to not only see, but experience you differently from others. Those who are meant to be there will be there. You don’t ever have to force YOUR people to stand with you and ride with you if those are truly YOUR people. Pour into those who pour into you consistently ONLY, not when it’s convenient for them.
