Life & Work with Prasad R K Reddy of MUMBAI

Today we’d like to introduce you to Prasad R K Reddy

Hi Prasad R K, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I wanted to become an Actor, i became Director!.

I was at school, weaving stories while juggling my schoolwork. I continued writing stories and, by that time, I had produced a few short films. After finishing school in 2018, I enrolled in a college to pursue an engineering degree while also choosing to study filmmaking in Mumbai. But after two years, I dropped out of school and gave my all to learning filmmaking because my mum and dad are always there for me. I Believe that rather than blindly following the society after school going for colleges and taking some society’s blindly trusted courses like engineering, “wait i am not opposing engineering at all just wanted to say that” if your interested in some other fields and if you invest your time and money on that field particularly rather then some unwanted degrees then may be in some time you will be mastered in your field.

I wrote, directed, acted, edited, VFXed, for seven short films in the fantasy, horror, suspense, and thriller genres. My brothers, Akshay and Ajay, assisted me with technical parts of the project, such as shooting and management. from 7 short films i made 5 short Films before joining Filmmaking institute, i learned basics of vfx & editing through Youtube videos and by practicing it became mediator in terms of level. Just the thing is If you really want to make something, if you fixed in your mind, heart then definitely you will achieve it. We have to be focused in all our sense.

“If you didn’t assisted some Directors then you have less chance to become Director” Despite what the majority of the institutes state, this is utterly false.. do you know how many Assistant Directors are there working in industry, and do you know how many new Directors are coming!! its almost to 1%. its all about the Mindset, courage to take decision, risks, commitment and off course the Skills/talent.

I did’t wanted to assist, wanted to try out myself and iam a Fresh Filmmaker/Director you are not supposed to get a chance in industry until you are proved something. So i decided to make something that has to grab the attraction.

so I made the decision to make a web-series for youtube to create buzz but while writing it turned out so good and big. and also wanted to open Film Production House that would open doors to worlds where tales might come to life on their own. Inspired by this magical journey, the name “Enchanted Dreams” came to life, a gateway to worlds waiting to be told.

I made Writers team and started working on concepts to transform them to Scripts, involved Graphic designers, Production Manager, admin, and Animation artists and slowly our team increased and no we are 25+ people working in our Production.

At first, we were a small band of three, whispering dreams into existence. Over time, our circle grew, and today we are a constellation of 24 gifted souls from across India. Together, we are the dream-weavers, each of us an essential element in this enchanted realm. This is Enchanted Dreams.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In Beginning you will be alone to start, without any contacts.
We need to keep trying and trying without loosing a hope.
As i said i dropped out my degree in between so we have to make some strong decisions and i dont have second Option, only 1 that has to be work.
Relatives/people talks obviously there will more people who try’s to stop you from your way, just ignore the talks and be focused on your goal.
You won’t get producers/investors to invest in your projects.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do write scripts, I do direction and i do Editing and i do VFX. But iam Specialized in screenplay Writing, Direction and editing.
I know for Founder and Director.
Iam proud of what iam doing.
my Skills, my journey, myself.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
in coming 5-10 years Film industry will be continuing to evolve in exciting and transformative ways. With the growing demand for streaming content and the integration of AI and virtual production technologies, storytelling will become more dynamic and immersive. Independent creators will have even more opportunities to showcase their work, thanks to platforms that democratize distribution.

I also think diverse and inclusive storytelling will take center stage, offering fresh perspectives and engaging global audiences in deeper ways. From a creative standpoint, I believe genres like cosmic horror and supernatural narratives will see a resurgence as people continue exploring stories that challenge perceptions of reality and delve into existential questions.

Personally, I’d like to contribute to this evolution by crafting stories that not only entertain but also provoke thought and emotion pushing the boundaries of what audiences expect from cinema. The next decade feels like an exciting frontier, and I’m eager to be part of it.
