Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty Delvalle
Hi Patty, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From the thrill of opening a fresh box of crayons as a child to the familiar scent of high school art classrooms, my love for creating has always been a part of me. I pursued a fine arts degree in college, but when motherhood became my greatest calling, my creativity found new outlets in the everyday beauty of raising a family. In recent years, as my children have grown, I’ve returned fully to my artistic practice, embracing the opportunity to create with renewed passion and purpose.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey wasn’t always smooth—I encountered my fair share of obstacles. Doubt crept in. Was I too old to start? Would my work be good enough? I wrestled with the uncertainty of where to begin, how to break into the art world, and how to get my work seen. Slowly I worked through each challenge trusting the process and growing as a human and an artist to keep moving forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an abstract expressionist, I work primarily in acrylic on both canvas and paper, with my abstract florals becoming a signature of my style. I’ve had the privilege of showcasing my work in various shows and galleries, and I’m deeply grateful for every opportunity to share my artistic journey with others.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Since happiness can be so fleeting, especially when tied to things that don’t last; I find my faith in God gives me a deep, unwavering joy—one that sustains me regardless of circumstance. That being said, I find immense joy in simple moments: afternoon walks with my husband, time with my family, creating in my studio, and the quiet stillness of early mornings. The moments may be temporary, but they make life rich and meaningful.
