Today we’d like to introduce you to Keitha S Turner
Hi Keitha S, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first started doing hair at the age 11years old. My mom had 6 kids head to do almost every night before school. Life happened to my mom to where she got real sick that she could no longer do me and my siblings hair. I remember I told my mom I knew how to braid. She didn’t believe me until i started braiding my brother’s hair. Then felt a little confident that I started braiding my fathers hair to now doing me and all my sister’s hair for school. This passion of being a hairstylist has been in me for years. I’ve discovered at 11 that this was something I wanted to take serious. Fast forward time over 14-15 years later I’ve been standing behind a chair doing hair or traveling doing hair. One of my greatest reasons why I love doing hair, I love to connect with different people and also make women feel more beautiful and confident within themselves. This is a Gift that I believe God has placed in me as I were in my mother’s womb. I just discovered it at 11. I’m now 28 years old still going. I just recently moved to Atlanta GA October 2024 to further my talents and gifts to another crowd of people.Im Praying that I can meet and style some dope people in the Atlanta area. I’m looking forward to great connections in the beauty industry. My number one Goal in 2025 is to become a celebrity hair stylist.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of my struggles in the hair industry are building. Building can become overwhelming especially when you move to a whole new state with no clients. It took faith in God to be where I am slowly today. Back at home , I’m from Milwaukee Wi. I’ve built my clientele there to where there would be days I won’t even have to promote because people knew who I were. Coming to Atlanta is now forcing me to brand myself the more because I’m in a new arena.
As you know, we’re big fans of Virtuous Beauty Suites LLC . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a full time Hairstylist. I mostly specialized in Weave. More of Wigs , Sew ins and quick weaves. Almost every trending style i specializes in. I am known for being an entrepreneur. Hairstylist and sometimes Makeup artist. What set me apart from others is I don’t try to compromise or brand myself how others brand their brand. I love being different and having a different craft. I love for my brand to catch people eyes. I love that my business name is behind God. I named it Virtuous because in the Bible Virtuous means Purity. Set apart. Different from others. I am available for hair everyday from 10am-10pm except Sundays.
