Latoya , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a passion for creativity, whether it’s through fashion, content creation, or storytelling. My journey started with a love for travel and sharing experiences, which naturally led me to creating travel vlogs on YouTube. Over time, I found myself covering lifestyle events, which inspired me to launch Solo Dating with Latoya Lashae—a monthly series on Instagram where I take myself on a solo date each month in 2025 and document the experience. I’m even considering bringing it to YouTube to expand the conversation around self-love and enjoying your own company.
At the same time, I was growing my presence on social media, experimenting with fun and engaging content. One of my viral moments happened when I posted a jean-on-jean outfit, asking my followers to connect with me if the algorithm brought them to my page and to check out my fashion content. I love using my platform to inspire women to embrace and love themselves, no matter their size. That moment reinforced my mission to create content that fosters confidence and self-expression.
Beyond content creation, I launched Plush Tingz LLC, my plus-size apparel brand, to empower women with stylish, comfortable pieces that celebrate individuality. Balancing entrepreneurship and content creation has been a journey of learning and evolving, but everything I do is rooted in self-expression and inspiring others. Today, I’m continuing to grow, collaborate with brands, and find new ways to connect with my audience in an authentic way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has been consistency—trying to balance work and creating content regularly, even when I’m exhausted. After a long day, sometimes all I want to do is come home and rest. There are also days when I don’t feel well, so I don’t feel like getting dressed or doing my makeup, which makes it harder to stay consistent. I have so much lifestyle and travel content that I want to share, but I don’t always edit or post it as quickly as I’d like.
What keeps me going, though, is my loyal followers. Their messages about how much they love my content, how it inspires them, or even when they ask when I’m posting next—it reminds me why I do this. Knowing that my content makes an impact pushes me to keep creating, even when it’s challenging. I’ve also learned to give myself grace and focus on showing up in the best way I can, rather than aiming for perfection.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
By day, I’m a Senior Analyst focused on improving the delivery experience for Pro customers. I specialize in optimizing processes to ensure a seamless and high-quality experience for top-tier clients. It’s all about problem-solving and enhancing customer satisfaction, which I enjoy because I love finding ways to improve things.
Outside of work, I wear many creative hats. I’m a digital creator known for my fashion, lifestyle, and travel content, where I inspire women to embrace their confidence and individuality. I also own Kerry’s Kakes, where I design custom cakes that bring people’s sweetest visions to life. On top of that, I run my plus-size apparel brand, Plush Tingz LLC, which is all about stylish, comfortable fashion that celebrates self-love.
One of the things I love most is traveling solo all over the world, showing women that they can do what makes them happy, no matter what stage of life they’re in. Through my adventures, I hope to encourage more women to embrace independence, step outside their comfort zones, and create unforgettable experiences for themselves.
What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve made through my content. Whether it’s a message from a follower saying I inspired them to love themselves more, or seeing someone confidently wearing Plush Tingz, those moments remind me why I do what I do.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance creativity with authenticity. I’m not just creating content—I’m building a community, sharing real experiences, and embracing every part of who I am. I want my audience to feel seen, valued, and inspired to live life unapologetically.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Atlanta is that there’s always something going on, no matter what you’re into. The city has an energy that keeps things exciting—you can go from a live concert one night to a laid-back wine tasting the next, and then discover a new restaurant that instantly becomes a favorite. I love that there’s always a new spot to try, whether it’s a rooftop lounge with a view, a hidden gem with the best food, or a pop-up event that brings the culture to life. One of my favorite things about Atlanta is the abundance of Black-owned establishments. From restaurants to boutiques to lounges, there’s so much Black excellence to explore, and I love supporting businesses that reflect our culture and creativity. Atlanta is a city where you can curate your own vibe, whether you’re in the mood for a solo adventure or a fun night out with friends.
What I don’t love? The dating scene. Like, I’m a cute jawn with so much going for myself—where is my man, my man, my man? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good solo date, whether it’s fancy or laid-back, but sometimes I want to switch it up. I want to hit the arcade, go bowling, vibe out at a Hawks game with a man. I want a baecation with matching outfits, to style him—or better yet, let him style me if he’s fly! Atlanta has everything, but it would be nice if it also had him.
