Life & Work with Jasmine Clark of Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Clark

Hi Jasmine , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started in the world of healthcare—I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 15 years, my purpose in life is caring for others. My passion is hair extensions.

As a busy career woman myself, I experienced firsthand how hard it was to find high-quality hair extensions that were both beautiful and convenient. Too many brands were selling low-quality, synthetic blends disguised as “luxury” hair, and I knew women deserved better. I wanted to create a brand that busy professionals, mothers, and entrepreneurs could trust—something that made them feel effortlessly beautiful without the stress of shedding, matting, or wasted money.

That’s when Herstory Hair was born. I built this brand with two things in mind: high quality and empowerment. Our hair isn’t just about looks—it’s about giving women the confidence to step into any room and own it. Whether it’s clip-ins for a quick transformation, ponytails for on-the-go glam, or bundles that last, we make beauty effortless.

Fast forward to today, and Herstory Hair has grown into a trusted name with thousands of happy customers. But beyond the products, we’ve built a community. A space where women share their stories, uplift each other, and celebrate their own journeys—because our hair is just one part of our HERstory.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth? Not at all. But every challenge was necessary to build a brand women could truly trust.

When I first started, I was determined to source only the highest-quality, ethically sourced hair. But that was easier said than done. I spent countless hours testing different vendors, ordering samples, and inspecting every strand—only to find that many companies weren’t honest about what they were selling. Some claimed to offer “100% human hair” but mixed in synthetic fibers. Others sourced hair unethically. I refused to settle. I went through dozens of manufacturers, personally testing and rejecting anything that didn’t meet my standards. I lost money. I dealt with frustration. But I knew that if I was going to build a brand that women could rely on, I had to do it the right way.

Building this business hasn’t been easy, but every struggle has been worth it. Because now, when a woman buys from Herstory Hair, she knows she’s getting luxury, longevity, and integrity. And that’s something I’ll never compromise on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What sets us apart? Quality, transparency, and community.

Unlike many brands that cut corners, we take the time to source our hair ethically, test every product rigorously, and ensure longevity. Our customers don’t just buy hair—they invest in premium extensions that last. And because we believe in empowering women beyond beauty, we’ve built a platform for storytelling where women can share their journeys, inspire each other, and celebrate their own HERstory.

What am I most proud of? The trust we’ve built. Seeing our customers light up with confidence, knowing they finally have a brand they can count on—that’s what makes it all worth it. Herstory Hair isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling unstoppable.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you’re just starting out, my biggest advice is this: stay committed to your vision, even when it feels impossible.
Starting Herstory Hair wasn’t easy, but today, I have a brand I’m proud of—a brand that empowers women beyond beauty. If you’re just starting, keep pushing, keep learning, and don’t let temporary setbacks stop you from building something incredible.
