Hidden Gems: Meet Lolita Yagnik of Lolita’s Parlour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lolita Yagnik

Hi Lolita , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2007 I worked for my cousin who owned a ice cream store in the mall. At that time I just sold my business and finishing up grad school. On my shift I sat across from the store to watch everything and I had a moment on my childhood. What I witness was that no matter what color, religion, creed who were everybody loved ice cream, I grew up near two farms where we would ride our bikes and get ice cream. At that point when I realized everyone loved ice cream I said to myself that I will have my own ice cream store. I had to wait many years and one day the doors opened and we opened up in 2016.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There were alot of challenges in the beginning when opening up the store. After opening it was a hurdle for up to two years and than covid assisted us to where we finally got a name. I also worked a job in the first two years. I worked from 8-2 and than at 2 :01 I opened up the shop. I wanted to make sure all bills were paid.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our ice cream shop has turned into a dessert shop. I sell cakes, ice cream, carnival food, pizza, churros, hot dogs, pretzels and even more deliciousness. I am actually known for our ice cream and our great creations. I love our brand of choice on the ice cream which is Hershey’s Company Creamery. When you come into Lolita’s Parlour you will be overwhelmed with all of the food choices we offer. We also have a food truck were we can cater your next event.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Desserts will always be around. At this time I see the industry picking up in the near future. There will always be trends in the newest creation.
