Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Estill
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Photography has always been my way of seeing the world—finding beauty in the details and turning moments into memories. I discovered my love for photography during a trip to Machu Picchu, where I found myself captivated by the art of travel photography. What started as a creative passion quickly grew into something much bigger, leading me on a journey I never expected.
At the end of 2023, I took a leap of faith and quit my six-figure job to trust God and go full-time with my photography, believing that He would provide. I wanted to pursue a career that truly inspired me and allowed me to make a lasting impact. For a couple of years, I specialized in branding photography, helping entrepreneurs and businesses tell their stories through powerful imagery. While I loved capturing brands in their best light, I recently felt called to expand into wedding photography. There’s something incredibly special about documenting love stories—the magic of a day that marks the beginning of a beautiful forever. It’s been an exciting transition, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to create timeless memories for my clients. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After quitting my job to go full-time with photography, I was excited that I was starting to book clients. But I quickly realized that I wasn’t treating my business like a full-time venture. Business slowed down for a few months, and I started to feel scared. I pivoted into real estate photography, only to find that it wasn’t the right fit either. That’s when a friend gave me some invaluable advice: treat my business like a corporate job—set a schedule, punch in and out, and show up every day. I took that advice to heart, and it made all the difference. My business began thriving, hitting numbers I’d never reached before. As an entrepreneur, there will always be ups and downs, and slower seasons. But now, I’m better equipped to handle those moments and focus on getting all the behind-the-scenes work done.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a branding photographer transitioning into wedding photography, with a focus on capturing moments and transforming them into lasting works of art. What makes me most proud is being able to turn my passion and talent into my career. In 2024, I had the privilege of traveling to Kenya on a mission trip, where I was able to use my photography skills to support a nonprofit by providing website and marketing photos. It was also an incredible opportunity to capture the beauty of the country and its people. What sets me apart is my ability to see the beauty in every moment, capture all the details— big and small, and my creative eye.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The biggest lesson from COVID-19 was the importance of implementing solid systems in your business. With the right processes in place, you can launch your photography business from anywhere in the world!
