Community Highlights: Meet Ashley Wright of Day of Enchantment Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wright

Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as a wedding planning assistant in Virginia, where I was able to learn the ropes and immerse myself in the world of event planning. Along the way, my mom, who is also the lead designer on our team, joined me, and together we decided to create our own business. It was an exciting leap, and we worked hard to combine our strengths to build something special.

As we grew, we focused on refining our skills, expanding our network, and offering personalized, unique services for our clients. Over the years, we’ve faced challenges, but those moments pushed us to become stronger and more creative in how we approach our work.

Today, we’re proud of what we’ve built and are excited to continue growing, making lasting memories for our clients. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I’m so grateful to have my mom by my side as we continue this journey together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road! Owning a business comes with its fair share of challenges, and there have been plenty of learning moments along the way. One of the biggest struggles early on was figuring out how to balance the creative side of the business with the practical aspects, like managing finances, handling logistics, and setting up systems. It took time to get comfortable with all the behind-the-scenes work that’s necessary to keep everything running smoothly.

Another challenge has been dealing with the unpredictable nature of the wedding and event industry. Some days are incredibly busy and others can be slow, which means we always have to plan ahead and be adaptable. There have been moments where we’ve had to pivot quickly due to unexpected situations—whether it’s last-minute changes from clients or challenges with vendors—but those experiences have only made us more resilient and better at problem-solving.

It’s also a constant balance between work and personal life. Running a business can be all-consuming, but I’ve learned that setting boundaries and finding time to recharge is just as important as keeping the business growing.

Overall, it’s been a rewarding journey, even with the struggles. Every challenge has taught us something valuable, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
