Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Thomas
Hi Denise, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
To be honest all of this started with me losing my full time job and not having any help with my kids. I used to post content online and all my friends would brag about how neat and well put together my home was so I then started to do it more often I went from doing my own pantry to about 10 different families within a month. Organizing was my passion but I also had a good eye for cleaning. One of my regular clients just so happen to need her house cleaned and asked if I was available to do it at first I was scared as i never cleaned someone else home. But something told me to just go and I Did from that day forth Lux Cleaning was born.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part when I first started it was smooth running at times I found myself a little overwhelmed due to the high demand of clients I was getting. But I kept going even when I had no team but had 4/6 cleanings a day.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lux was founded on February 18th 2024 I took the last of my savings and went to the court house and got an LLC i borrowed money from my friends for products and used Facebook marketplace as starting point. I ran a $99 dollar special and offered move out cleanings. I went from 1 client to 40 in less than 4 months. Lux is a 1 woman show I don’t have a team of cleaners that come in it’s just me and I take pride in knowing that once I’m done your home is left looking like it came out of a magazine. I pay very close attention to detail. I’m always upfront and honest with my clients.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Going up I was adopted so I didn’t know my biological parents till I got much older but what I will say is my foster parents were some of the most amazing people the way they loved on me and cared for me no one could have known I wasn’t biologically their daughter. I did news campaigns when I was about 6/7 modeling for Nordstrom and McDonalds had to be the highlight of my childhood. I joined a Christian drill team, a choir called shades of unity and even tapped dance. I’ve always been this funny down to earth cool girl
