Hidden Gems: Meet Divya Sarin of The Coder School

Today we’d like to introduce you to Divya Sarin

Hi Divya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I’m Divya, I am working towards transforming After-School Coding in Atlanta

I am on a mission to revolutionize after-school programs by integrating coding into K-12 education across four counties in Atlanta. With an MBA in Marketing from a prestigious institute in India and extensive experience in educational sales since 2017, I have dedicated my career to shaping impactful STEM learning experiences.

Alongside my incredible team, Christy Le and Aram, we are a women-led force working to change the coding landscape for students. Together, we manage operations for four schools, collaborating with educators and leaders to ensure coding becomes an essential part of after-school enrichment.

Aram Asadzadeh is the Executive Assistant of Operations and Marketing at TheCoderSchool in Georgia. With a background in digital media and marketing, he is passionate about using technology to inspire innovation. Aram supports a team focused on shaping the future by helping young minds become tech leaders, blending creativity with strategic marketing to engage and inspire the next generation of innovators.

Christy Le is the Assistant Manager at TheCoderSchool’s Suwanee and Johns Creek locations in Atlanta. She has a degree in Literature, Media, & Science from Georgia Tech and a Full Stack Web Development certification from their Coding Bootcamp. Initially working in marketing, she switched to coding and spent almost a year as a Code Coach at TheCoderSchool. Christy enjoys guiding students through their coding adventures and watching them grow into skilled developers.

With expertise in marketing, sales, and strategic execution and operations we are bridging the gap between traditional education and the future of technology—empowering the next generation with the skills they need to thrive in a digital world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As an immigrant, the journey has been anything but easy. Navigating a new country, building a career from the ground up, and establishing credibility in the education space came with its fair share of challenges. From understanding the nuances of the U.S. education system to breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated tech field, I had to push through moments of doubt and uncertainty.

What started with managing one school has now grown into overseeing operations across multiple locations, all while ensuring we maintained sales—even through the challenges of COVID. Every setback became a lesson, every challenge an opportunity.

Through it all, my passion for education and introducing coding to every child in Atlanta kept me moving forward. I’m grateful to have a strong team—Christy and Aram—who share the same vision of transforming coding education for K-12 students. Together, we are proving that persistence, adaptability, and a relentless drive can open doors and create lasting change.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Coder School, where I’ve built my career, isn’t just another coding program. We specialize in teaching kids and teens (K-12) to code, but we go beyond just the basics. We’re known for our small class sizes and personalized instruction. We believe in a mentorship-based approach, where our instructors, many of whom are experienced software developers, start up founders work closely with students to nurture their passion for technology. This personalized attention is what truly sets us apart. We don’t just teach syntax; we foster problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity – essential skills for any future career, not just tech.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the impact we have on our students. We see firsthand how coding empowers them, builds their confidence, and opens up new possibilities. We’ve had students go on to win coding competitions, develop their own apps, and even start thinking about careers in tech at a young age. That’s what drives us.

The coaches at The Coder School are truly the backbone of our work, bringing passion and expertise to every lesson. They are dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging environment where students thrive. With their deep understanding of coding and ability to connect with students, they inspire the next generation of tech leaders. Their commitment to individualized attention ensures each student’s growth and success. The coaches’ ability to adapt and empower is what makes TheCoderSchool an exceptional place to learn.

What I want readers to know is that The Coder School is more than just a place to learn code; it’s a community. We create a supportive environment where students can explore their interests, collaborate with peers, and discover their potential. We offer a variety of programs, from introductory coding classes to advanced courses in specific programming languages. Whether a child is just starting out or already has some coding experience, we have something to offer. We believe that everyone can learn to code, and we’re committed to making coding education accessible and engaging for all. We’re not just building coders; we’re building the innovators of tomorrow.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Curious, Determined, and Always Ready to Take on a Challenge

Growing up, I was always a mix of curiosity and determination. I loved learning new things, whether it was diving into books, solving puzzles, or exploring how things worked. Science and math fascinated me, which eventually led me to pursue a degree in Chemistry. But beyond academics, I was also a people person—someone who thrived on meaningful conversations and building strong relationships.

I was never the one to take the easy route, and TheCoderSchool is the perfect platform to continue that journey. Challenges excite me, and I thrive on pushing boundaries, whether it’s delivering innovative coding programs, stepping into leadership roles, or improving the student experience. My love for structure and strategy has always been a driving force, and at TheCoderSchool, I channel that into organizing and optimizing operations for maximum impact. I’m motivated by the pressure to succeed, knowing that by building a strong foundation, we can make TheCoderSchool an even bigger force in shaping future tech leaders.
