Hi Nicholas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Nicholas Koutsodontis, but within the music industry, I’m widely known as “Chiko.” I co-founded Hits Only Music Ent., LLC. alongside my brother and business partner, Reazy Renegade. Our journey began in 2009 when we started working under DJ Khaled’s We The Best imprint. During that time, we were also closely involved with the YMCMB crew, immersing ourselves in the culture at a young age and working tirelessly to build our names in the industry. I was co-managing a production group called The Renegades alongside DJ Khaled, with Reazy Renegade as a key member.
Reazy quickly made a name for himself as a producer, crafting hits such as “Welcome to My Hood” for DJ Khaled, “Freak Show” for Meek Mill and 2 Chainz, and playing a crucial role in Ace Hood’s development. Meanwhile, I was securing placements for his work with major artists, including Jeezy, French Montana, Fabolous, Tory Lanez, ScHoolboy Q, and The Game. Over time, we remained consistent in our efforts, delivering high-quality records like “Lottery” by K Camp and “Get Paid” by Young Dolph. Witnessing Renegade’s collaborations with Ye and receiving recognition from Pharrell for his unique sound reinforced my belief that our journey extended beyond just a manager-producer relationship.
With that vision in mind, we took the next step—establishing Hits Only Music Ent., LLC. as a full-fledged music label. Our mission is to create a powerhouse in music distribution and artist development, an area where many labels fall short today. We provide comprehensive label services, ensuring that each artist has their own trajectory—whether it’s signing with a major label or pursuing an independent path. We’ve partnered with Vydia for distribution, having previously worked with Sony Orchard in 2018 and Empire in 2020.
Beyond music, we have expanded into the sports industry with Hits Only Sports, where we manage athletes, develop their brands, create merchandise, and secure sponsorships and endorsements. Additionally, our media and film division, Hits Only Media, is launching a reality show centered around producers and Reazy Renegade, along with a dedicated space for podcasts and other content.
Ultimately, our goal is to build an empire that spans the entire entertainment industry, bridging music, sports, and media to create a lasting legacy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a talent manager or a label CEO is never a smooth road. Even as a music producer, you inevitably experience both highs and lows. Nothing comes easy in this industry, but what sets us apart is our commitment to consistency and perseverance. We’ve faced our share of challenges—difficult days, weeks, and even months—navigating the politics of the business and overcoming obstacles to reach where we are today.
One of the early struggles was learning how to differentiate ourselves while still competing with major distributors like Empire, Vydia, and UnitedMasters, as well as independent platforms such as TuneCore, CD Baby, and DistroKid. Another challenge was continuously identifying the right strategic partnerships that aligned with our vision. While both Reazy Renegade and I are seasoned industry professionals with strong networks, building something sustainable was never easy—it required relentless effort and strategic decision-making.
Success in this field demands unwavering dedication to discovering talent and following through on your commitments. Leadership is a daily responsibility, requiring the ability to remain level-headed, even in the face of personal challenges or industry shifts.
