Check Out Alexis Burgin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Burgin.

Hi Alexis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I started ‘Lex Clean Pretty’, It was a challenging time in my life as I was navigating many personal struggles, especially with my mom recovering in the hospital and the recent loss of my oldest sister, Tameeka.

Amidst these difficult times, I realized I needed a way to earn a living that also allowed me to be present for my mom. My previous jobs seemed to overlook my needs and personal life, which prompted me to take a leap into entrepreneurship. I was tired of relying on environments that didn’t appreciate me.

One day, I was on the phone with a close friend, venting about my desire to start my own business while feeling unsure about what to pursue. She suggested starting a cleaning business, which resonated with me since cleaning had been on my mind for a while.

After doing some research and giving it some thought, I quickly purchased cleaning supplies, signed up on a cleaning app, and began working that same week. At this point I was testing it out to get an idea on how it would go. Once I recognized my skills in this area, it became incredibly rewarding. I truly enjoyed it! I then sat down to brainstorm a business name that was girly, cute, and unique, which is how ‘Lex Clean Pretty’ was born.

Starting ‘Lex Clean Pretty’ has not only provided me with a way to create my own income, but it has also become a therapeutic outlet that allows me to navigate my personal journey while making a positive impact on others. It’s so satisfying and rewarding to see how clean I can make a home. Seeing my clients happy with the results truly warms my heart! I love that I can create a safe space for them to relax and feel beautiful in. I believe a clean environment has a significant impact on mental health.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I’ve come to realize that perfection isn’t always attainable and that mistakes are an inevitable part of the journey. Each challenge has provided valuable lessons that contribute to my growth.

I’m continuously learning and evolving, and I know that each struggle I encounter is an opportunity for growth. It’s all part of the journey toward success, and I’m grateful for those lessons as they shape both my business and me personally.
