Check Out Arielle And Alanna (ALARIE) Brown’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle And Alanna (ALARIE) Brown.

Hi Arielle and Alanna (ALARIE), thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Our journey started the moment we could talk, but we truly found our harmony as a duo when we were just 6 and 7 years old, and it’s grown ever since. We were both trained in classical and gospel music, singing in church choirs and performing with the Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel and the Washington National Cathedral Choir. We have had the opportunity to perform in many different places, such as the Kennedy Center, the Washington National Cathedral, and several embassies. We have also performed with notable artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Bebe Winans, and Sweet Honey and the Rock.

In 2022, we took a leap of faith and started writing and creating music together which led to our first single, THE MOTIVE released in September of 2023. Since then, we’ve shared our original music in Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Atlanta, bringing our evolving sound to new audiences.

We began gaining momentum on TikTok in 2024 by singing theme songs and sharing our journey of creating music, connecting with a growing audience along the way. We’re excited to keep sharing more across our platforms and continue entertaining and inspiring people through our music.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing the creative side of music with the business side. As independent artists, we’re not just focused on writing and performing—we also handle marketing, branding, and booking, which can be overwhelming. Another challenge has been breaking through without major label support. We’ve had to build our audience organically, which takes a lot of consistency, strategy, and patience. Social media, especially TikTok, has played a huge role in our growth, but staying consistent while also focusing on making music can be tough. Despite these challenges, we’ve learned so much and are excited to keep growing and sharing our music with the world.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As ALARIE, we’re an R&B soul duo and real-life sisters, born just 14 months apart. Music has been a part of us since childhood—we grew up singing in our grandfather and uncles’ churches in Columbia, South Carolina and in Panama City, Panama. We have a background in gospel and classical music, and developed a sound that blends rich harmonies with heartfelt storytelling to create music we want to hear that nobody else is making.

People often recognize us from our viral theme song covers on TikTok, but we’re most proud of creating our own music. What sets us apart is our bond—you can feel it in our harmonies and the way we create together. We love connecting with people through music and art, and we’re excited to keep growing, sharing our journey, and making music that speaks to the soul.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Honestly, the most important things to us are being real and letting our voices shine. Authenticity is everything to us. We never want to feel like we’re putting on a persona or doing something just because it’s trendy. Whether we’re singing live, recording music, or even just posting on social media, we always want people to hear us—our raw vocals, our harmonies, and the emotion behind every note. At the end of the day, we just want our music to connect with people in a real way, and that only happens when we stay true to ourselves.
