CanvasbyU!: Revolutionizing the Paint & Sip Experience
What began as a small paint-and-sip concept in East Cobb in 2008 has grown into a global sensation. Originally branded as Sips n Strokes, the business rebranded as CanvasbyU! in 2011, blending creativity with cocktails to offer a fun, fast-paced painting experience.
By 2012, CanvasbyU! shifted from traditional studio and restaurant settings to a licensing model, expanding its reach beyond local venues. In 2013, the brand set sail into the cruise industry, introducing its signature paint-and-sip experience to travelers at sea. This move proved to be a game-changer, leading to a partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line in 2016. Today, CanvasbyU! is featured across Norwegian’s entire fleet of 20 ships. The success continues with exclusive events on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, further solidifying its presence in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
Closer to home, CanvasbyU! keeps Atlanta inspired, offering corporate events and pop-up painting experiences at restaurants. Whether on land or at sea, this innovative brand continues to bring creativity and connection to people worldwide.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As every entrepreneur knows, challenges and pivots are inevitable. Rebranding was certainly a hurdle, requiring us to redefine our identity while maintaining our loyal following. Shifting our focus from the local market to an international stage was another challenge—one that pushed us to think bigger, adapt faster, and embrace new opportunities beyond what we ever imagined.

We are known for our fun, fast-paced approach to art, setting us apart from the competition. Our paintings have a distinct style, and longtime customers often tell us that our experience stands out. We offer a laid-back, engaging atmosphere where guests can paint, sip, and mingle—a true Sip & Paint experience.
What many people don’t realize is that we were among the pioneers of the industry. From the very beginning, we’ve been redefining the way people connect through creativity, making art accessible, social, and unforgettable.
