Conversations with Katrina Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Robinson.

Hi Katrina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started life in Roanoke,VA and grew to become a poet and hair braider. I moved to Atlanta,on my own, at 21 years young. Still insecure of my talents, I sought employment and quick hustles to get by. Once I enrolled in Atlanta Technical College to study Marketing Management – I became confident in how to present my skills to the masses for profit. I had the advantage of social media and I created successful business streams . I had my son five years ago and transitioned back to VA. Today I have my own brick and mortar retail store that also houses my service area, where I still braid my loyal clients. I look forward to traveling back and forth to Atlanta to service my clients there as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. At my lowest point I was living in my car. Being a single mom is a consistent mental battle. I am an entrepreneur and I home school so my son is with me 24/7. I am already a super thinker who is now constantly overstimulated (kids have sooooo much energy) . Otherwise God has seen me through all the bumps in the road and for that , I am thankful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a serial entrepreneur. Aside from being a talented hair braider and creative writer- I also have a brand of pet clothing called “Buggy’s FYTS for Pets” as well as confectionary company by the name of Atown Apples. I am also the owner of The Healing Stone Wellness Boutique.
I appreciate my ability to see ideas through and I think that’s what sets me apart from most dreamers . My willingness to bet on myself. I invest in my visions and that’s where I see success. Having various products and services to offer will continue to create revenue.

What’s next?
At this point in life I see success as an illusion. Most business owners want to see super wealth but the real bag is freedom. I plan on creating smooth systems so my businesses can operate without me. Then I plan on international travel for long periods of time, maybe forever lol. My goals consist of as much sunshine as possible, fresh food and water, good health and comfortable shelter. Life is really simple like that.
