Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Love.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
About 15 years ago, I started planning weddings with a boutique wedding planner out of Dallas, TX. I worked for free, wedding after wedding, learning the nuances and trade secrets of being a wedding planner. Ultimately, that made me successful with the front end part of the business.
After my time there, I went on to work for a wedding company based out of Houston for several years. I was lucky enough to help build, sell and manage their venues while really getting comfortable with the back end of the business. There are so many moving parts to managing a wedding venue and I’m so grateful to have learned everything I did because the business side is totally different!
Today, I am the proud owner of WedChex Hospitality & Consulting. My mission is simply to help other business owners, wedding business or any other, reach their goals- whether that’s in sales, marketing, finances or operations. I want to share everything I know with people that need it!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I like to think that the road was overall smooth but with just a few dips and turns.
Weddings always felt like a good fit for me- it was my calling for as long as I can remember so even if the day was hard or the client gave me a run for my money, most days didn’t feel like work. I love being in hospitality. I was living out a dream that just so happened to prepare me for my next dream.

WedChex Consulting helps other business owners gain control, scale effectively, and build a sustainable future. Our team focuses on all aspects of the wedding business ownership including Sales & Marketing Analysis, P&L Management/ Financial Review and Event Execution & Overall Operations.
This brand is special because so many other consulting companies focus on just sales or just marketing but more times than not, there are other pieces of the business that are fractured. What we believe is that it’s difficult to fix one part of a troubled business without shining a light on the other areas that need review, too.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Chelsea Arnal gave me my first shot at planning. She saw something that I don’t know I even saw in myself until recently. She didn’t have to give me a chance but she did and it’s hard to say where I would be if she hadn’t.
