Conversations with Nataly Villa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nataly Villa.

Hi Nataly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was a girl who dreamt of making a difference some way and somehow and didn’t know how until life through lessons and experiences my way. I am a woman who wears many hats; Daughter of God, Wife, Mother, International Model, CFO of Fashion Brand D’BPHOR, CEO of Avil Candles A Village of Light. I got to where I am and got to wear all these hats by the glory of God.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s never a smooth ride when you’re trying to progress and learn everyday. Growth comes with many obstacles and many lessons. It comes with a prayerful life and depth in faith and hope. I went through loss, and not just any loss but losing a son. I went through losing myself and rising again. I went through a lot of darkness and fighting my way through to find the light.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My business is in Fashion, Beauty and Artisanal Candle Manufactoring. With fashion brand D’BPHOR I am involved in many different aspects of the brand whether it’s creative input, visual input, makeup artistry and many more. With my candles “Avil Candles”, the candles are carefully hand crafted by me and energy cleansed by myself.

I would say what sets me apart is my belief and my structure that if I don’t feel like I am ready to put out work I will not until I study my craft and until I perfect it to my level of perfecting. Not only that but until God tells me to move and go forth to do what he wants me to do with my candles and fashion.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I can honestly say my childhood was a blur and it’s a part of my life that because of trauma and loss that I can’t really remember much but what I do remember is myself always carrying a small purse with lipgloss and nail polish and my mother always dressing me up. That makes me realize that fashion was always part of my life.
