Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Abromitis.
Hi Terry, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Becoming a travel content creator… I spent 13 years as an elementary school teacher in Atlanta and made the bold choice to leave the classroom in 2020. I went full-time with an online education business I had started, which gave me the time and flexibility to do one of my favorite things—travel.
My first solo trip was in 2011, and I quickly realized how much I loved the freedom that comes with traveling alone. But everything truly shifted after I spent a month in Italy in 2021. That trip reignited something in me, and I decided to start creating videos about my adventures and sharing my travel knowledge on TikTok.
I quickly realized this was the creative outlet I had been craving. I began booking more trips and documenting my experiences online, sharing both the beauty and the realness of solo travel—especially as a woman in her 40s. I wanted to show that it’s never too late to chase your dreams, explore new corners of the world (even if you have to do it solo), and completely reinvent your life.
What started as a fun way to share my experiences has slowly evolved into a full-time career. Today, I partner with tourism boards and brands to create authentic, story-driven content across Instagram, TikTok, and my blog. I also coach aspiring creators and empower women to travel confidently and build businesses rooted in freedom and passion.
The past four years have been nothing short of transformative. I know I’ve finally found exactly what I’m meant to be doing—and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, the road has been smooth—but definitely not without its bumps. One of the biggest challenges in the social media space is learning to navigate the rollercoaster. Growth isn’t always linear. There are seasons where it feels like you’re pouring your heart into your content, but your audience isn’t growing, or your pitches aren’t landing any brand deals.
In those moments, it can be easy to feel discouraged. But over time, I’ve learned to trust the process and keep showing up. Those slower seasons have actually been some of the most valuable for building resilience, refining my vision, and staying focused on why I’m doing what I do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I create videos that share my travel adventures, practical tips for earning and using frequent flyer miles, and—most importantly—inspire other women to travel solo so they don’t miss out on seeing the world.
Most of my content is built around storytelling. I create vlogs that offer a real and relatable look into my experiences, which allows me to authentically connect with my audience. I don’t just show the highlight reel—I share the full journey, which is something my community truly values.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the positive, supportive space I’ve built online. It’s become more than just travel inspiration—it’s a place where women feel seen, encouraged, and empowered to chase their own adventures.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people don’t realize that I was an elementary school teacher for over a decade before entering the world of content creation. Becoming a travel content creator was definitely not part of my plan—I reinvented my life in my 40s, learning that it’s never too late to find and go after your dreams and pursue a life that fulfills you.
