Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Holley
Hi Melissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Early on, I learned the value of hard work. I’ve worn many hats over the years, and I’ve seen firsthand how businesses struggled to reach the right audience, and I realized that marketing wasn’t just about selling, it was about storytelling, connection, and strategy. That realization led me to start Holley Impact Marketing, a business dedicated to helping brands grow their presence and engage their audience. It was a leap of faith, but I knew I had the skills, passion, and determination to make it work. At the same time, my love for planning events began to take shape. I started small helping vendors, assisting with coordinating local pop-ups, and slowly growing my network. Before I knew it, I was managing large-scale events, bringing communities together, and helping businesses thrive in ways they never imagined.
Today, as the Marketing Director at Town Center at Cobb, I get to use everything I’ve learned to create real impact. Whether it’s hosting major events, developing marketing strategies, or simply helping small businesses find their audience, my work is about more than just business it’s about people.
Looking back, every challenge, job, and risk I took led me here. I’ve learned that success isn’t about having perfect plans, it’s about staying open to new opportunities, learning from every experience, and always moving forward. My journey is still unfolding, and I’m excited for what’s next. Because at the end of the day, I’m not just in marketing or event planning, I’m in the business of creating experiences, building connections, and making a lasting impact.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to where I am today has been filled with challenges, sacrifices, and lessons that have tested me in ways I never expected. One of the biggest struggles was starting from scratch and figuring out where I fit in in this world. I’ve always been passionate about bringing people together but turning that passion into a career takes time. I took risks, jumped into opportunities without knowing where they would lead, and often had to bet on myself when no one else did. With that came financial sacrifices. There were moments when I had to turn down things I wanted or nights out because I was focused on something bigger. I knew that putting in the hard work upfront would eventually pay off.
Another major sacrifice was time with loved ones. When you’re building something from the ground up, your schedule is anything but predictable. I missed family gatherings, birthdays, and moments with friends because I was either working an event, handling marketing campaigns, or strategizing my next move. It wasn’t always easy to explain why I couldn’t just “take a break” or why I had to prioritize work over social time. But I knew that to create the life I wanted; I had to stay focused and put in the work when it mattered most. Then there were the mental and emotional sacrifices. There were times I felt overwhelmed, moments when I questioned if I was doing the right thing, and days when exhaustion made me wonder if it was all worth it. But every time I thought about quitting, I reminded myself why I started. I wasn’t just working for a paycheck, I was building something meaningful, something that my children could be proud of their mom for doing! Every challenge, life experience, and every difficult decision led me here.
We’ve been impressed with Holley Impact Marketing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Holley Impact Marketing, it’s not just about business, it’s about impact. I create powerful connections between brands and their audiences. Specializing in digital marketing, branding, and event planning, I help businesses grow their presence, engage their communities, and make a lasting impact. One of my proudest moments in marketing was partnering with Extreme Dream Events for their Adopted Family Christmas program. This initiative was more than just a campaign, it was an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of a family in need during the holiday season. Through strategic promotion and community engagement, we were able to raise funds and gather support to provide gifts, essentials, and holiday cheer for their adopted Christmas family, a mother and her three boys. It was incredibly rewarding to see the generosity of the community come together, whether through participating in the raffle for a $1,000 shopping spree giveaway or contributing in other ways. The event not only brought joy to the family but also strengthened the sense of community and holiday spirit among everyone involved. This experience reaffirmed my passion for event marketing, showing me that it’s not just about promotion, it’s about creating moments that truly matter.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the tradition my family had 12 days leading up to Christmas.
Each night my dad and mom took turns reading a passage from the Bible, each scripture telling the story of the true meaning of Christmas. After the reading, we would carefully hang a special ornament on the tree, each one representing that night’s scripture.
Looking back, I cherish those moments of togetherness, the sound of my parents’ voices, and the feeling of peace that filled our home. Though years have passed, that tradition remains close to my heart, reminding me that the most precious gifts are found in the moments we share with those we love.
