Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I wrote a 31 day devotional entitled Run Toward Goliath a few years ago for adults and wanted to create something under the Run toward Goliath brand for children that was encouraging, educational, fun and inspirational. As a result, Run Toward Goliath the youtube channel was born. It is currently a small youtube channel that offers dance alongs, educational videos and a couple of web series. I try to upload a new video every 10-12 days.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entering animation has definitely been challenging. It took me quite a while to find quality animators and to decide on an animation style. Additionally, I had to create the characters, deciding not only on their looks but also on their personality. It’s been challenging but also very fulfilling because I’m a creative that finds enjoyment in the creative process.
As you know, we’re big fans of Run Toward Goliath. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Run Toward Goliath is an inspirational brand that consists of coloring books, a 31 day devotional, apparel and most recently, an animated youtube channel.. Right now most of my focus is on growing my youtube channel. I have a pretty skilled team now that is producing quality videos in a timely manner. I’m now trying to be really consistent in my uploading with the hopes that this year my channel will see great growth. If you’re looking for kid appropriate fun shows and videos that don’t contain adult messages and humor, then Run Toward Goliath is the youtube channel for you.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My best advice is to keep going. Nothing I’ve accomplished has come easy but perseverance and consistency have definitely paid off.
