Hi Andre, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Having spent some of my childhood in Italy and being exposed to many fresh cuisines, I set out to increase the accessibility and awareness of elusive food products in the U.S. After leaving the corporate world in 2021 to pursue my passion for specialty Italian cuisine products, I soon realized the lack of high quality and luxury products on the market and set out to source the highest quality ingredients on the planet.
As a nod to both my Italian roots and South Georgia upbringing, I am passionate about filling the gap for fine food products in the Southeast.
I chose Atlanta as the business’s headquarters due to the city’s position as a hub of the Southeast and its influx of fine dining establishments fueled by young culinary creatives. Arrivato Imports collaborates with chefs de cuisine, executive chefs and restaurant owners to curate the best specialty products for each establishment. As experts in the industry, we are able to source and find a solution for nearly any request via its portfolio of national or international suppliers.
Arrivato works directly with its suppliers spanning the globe to ensure exceptional quality and ingredients. These products come from local and national farms, foragers and other importers along with international partners in Italy, France, Spain, Japan and Australia.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, before I even made a sale or started my company, I had a verbal and written non-binding agreement in place to buy a similar company to Arrivato Imports. I was ready to move to a new city, looking at apartments and telling some close friends and family. At the last minute, the deal fell through. The key takeaway here is that most deals don’t go through (as certain as some may seem), and it’s very common for changes to the proposal to occur right before pen meets paper. Always have a plan B in place.
