Today we’d like to introduce you to Teylor Nurse.
Teylor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
On September 1st, 2023, I packed up everything I could fit in my car and left my hometown in Ohio behind. I wasn’t just relocating—I was restarting my life with nothing but faith, ambition, and a dream for more. Atlanta called to me with its energy, its creativity, and its endless possibilities, and I knew I had to answer.
Starting from scratch wasn’t easy, but I was determined. I took on a job as a bottle girl at King of Diamonds to get on my feet and make connections in the city. Not long after, I enrolled in school to study Business Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship. I knew I wanted more than just a job—I wanted to build something of my own.
Before moving, I had been modeling and acting in Ohio. I even went to a few casting calls after arriving in Atlanta, but I haven’t fully jumped back into the scene—yet. That’s still a big part of who I am and something I plan to return to when the time is right.
Right now, I work from home full-time and go to school full-time. It’s a lot, but it’s all part of the journey. I got here by staying focused, blocking out distractions, and refusing to let outside opinions define my path. Back in Ohio, I reached a point where I felt like I no longer belonged. I wanted more—for my peace, my purpose, and my future.
To me, happiness and success mean having the courage to go after what I want, even if I fail. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being brave enough to try. And that’s exactly what I did.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—and that’s what makes the journey so meaningful. The first few months were incredibly tough. I cried almost every day for three months straight. I didn’t know anyone, I didn’t know the city, and even though I had a job, I felt completely alone. It was a huge emotional shift—one that pushed me out of every comfort zone I had.
Starting over in a new place with no familiar faces was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It was a unique and humbling transition—one filled with growing pains, but also with growth. Those early struggles taught me how to be strong for myself, how to keep going even when it’s uncomfortable, and how to trust that the discomfort was part of something bigger: becoming the woman I’m meant to be
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
While a lot of people may not know my full story yet, those who do would say I’m known for being funny, entertaining, resilient, self-made, and always overcoming whatever life throws my way. I’ve modeled, acted, worked in nightlife—and now I work full-time in home insurance while pursuing my degree in business management.
I’m proudest of my strength. I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve never let it break me. Instead, I use every challenge as fuel to grow and evolve. I’m adaptable by nature—I can fit into any space as long as the vibe is right. Whether I’m in front of a camera or behind the scenes building my future, I show up with intention and purpose.
What truly sets me apart is my heart. I lead with compassion, I stay focused on the bigger picture, and no matter what’s happening around me, I keep my eyes on the prize. That mindset has carried me through every high and low—and it’s what will keep me moving forward.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
A lot of people are surprised to learn that I’m actually very introverted at heart. Even though I’ve worked in nightlife, modeled, and put myself in front of the camera, I truly value my peace and alone time. I’m big on protecting my energy and making space to recharge.
Another thing people don’t always realize is that I work full-time in home insurance while being a full-time student. I also make content and just started an interracial instagram page called “meximelanin”with me and my boyfriend David. I don’t always broadcast the grind, but I’m constantly working behind the scenes to build something bigger for myself. I believe in doing the inner work just as much as chasing outer success.
