Meet Shanna Stewart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanna Stewart.

Shanna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began acting at age 8 in a school play, then progressed to doing professional children’s theatre and got a talent agent around age 10. I worked professionally throughout my youth in TV, film, print and voiceover work. I also majored in the Theatre in college.

Around my mid-twenties, I pursued other paths and went on hiatus for some time from the Acting Biz.

I have gotten back into acting and am currently portraying “Gloria Keller” in an upcoming web series entitled “Scales” on YouTube and Amazon (premieres June 11). I recently completed a Public Service Announcement for Veteran’s Mental Health and I am also currently working on an Indie Film here in Atlanta. I continue to take classes regularly and work on my craft as often as possible.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting back into acting after some time away has definitely been challenging, but exciting. I am enjoying exploring different parts and characters. And, I am getting to know the industry as it is today in Atlanta.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am coming into the industry this time around with a fresh perspective and a more relaxed attitude. For one, I am getting cast in completely different parts (because I am no longer the 20-something ingenue).

I am enjoying playing strong women and interesting characters. I want to get into the heart and mind of every role I portray and look forward to portraying a variety of characters in film, TV and more.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe I need to stay positive about what I can bring to each role. I think my relaxed attitude, can do personality and easy going manner will continue to help me achieve success and will propel my career further.
