Hi Monique , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story began long before the stage.
I grew up navigating complex communication dynamics across cultures, countries, and generations. From an early age, I became a translator, not just of words, but of emotions, expectations, and unspoken truths. I didn’t know it then, but I was being prepared to teach others how to lead with emotional intelligence, clarity, and presence.
I officially stepped into entrepreneurship over a decade ago, founding Clear Communication Solutions to help high-performing leaders and global organizations communicate with power, purpose, and emotional awareness. I started with small workshops and consulting sessions, then grew into global keynotes, executive coaching, and transformational leadership programs across the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
Today, I work with corporate companies, government agencies, and entrepreneurial leaders, helping them develop the communication skills that foster connection. I’ve had the honor of being featured on major platforms, flown across continents, and trusted to facilitate deeply personal growth in corporate spaces. But more than anything, I’m proud to model what it means to lead from clarity, and emotional intelligence.
Whether I’m training executives on emotional intelligence, guiding mothers through reclaiming their voice and joy, or helping leaders tell their story with confidence, I’m doing the same work: helping people rise into their next level of clarity, impact, and connection.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all, and I wouldn’t change that. It makes me carry a depth into the work I do that connects on a soul level with my clients.
The road has been marked by personal reinvention, cultural transitions, and moments of deep grief that shaped my message and my mission. From navigating loss, to raising sons while building a global business, to confronting the emotional cost of over functioning and people-pleasing in professional and personal spaces…I’ve lived what I teach.
Every challenge has refined my voice, sharpened my message, and anchored my commitment to helping others lead with emotional wisdom, clarity, and connection — especially when life is messy, layered, and real.

Clear communication changes everything.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people see the polished version, the global speaker, the executive coach, the leadership strategist , but what many don’t know is that my entire life has been built on defying the status quo.
From the very beginning, I was wired differently. My mother protected my mind early, limiting my exposure to TV and social media long before it was popular. Even in high school, I was allowed just one hour of television a week. What seemed restrictive then was a gift: it preserved my ability to think critically, challenge norms, and dream beyond what I could see.
On paper, my story could have easily been framed around hardship: I didn’t know my biological father for the first eight years of my life. I left my home country at 17 by myself. I experienced seasons of estrangement from family. I struggled with identity, belonging, Blackness, and Africanness. I became a teen mom. I applied for over 200 jobs after college and was rejected from almost all of them. I battled health issues, navigated parenting challenges, and faced deep relationship loss.
BUT, I never saw my life as a story of defeat.
Even when the world tried to hand me a victim narrative, I refused it.
I made a choice, over and over again, to build a life rooted in clarity, courage, and communication.
Not because it was easy.
Because it was the only way I knew how to survive and honor the calling on my life.
The transformation and depth people see today — the emotional intelligence, the cultural fluency, the resilience — were not taught to me in textbooks. They were carved into me through experience, choice, and relentless pursuit of truth.
Clear Communication Solutions was born from that fire:
A commitment to help other leaders, mothers, visionaries, and changemakers lead with the same clarity and courage I had to fight for, because effective communication, emotional honesty, and challenging the status quo can change the trajectory of generations.
I don’t know any other way.
And even though it’s inspiring, it’s also incredibly real and incredibly challenging.
That’s why the work we do isn’t surface-level.
It’s soul work.
