Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Torres.
Hi Ariana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Everything started long time ago when I was studying hospitality at Universidad Mondragon Mexico, there was when I realized I enjoy bringing to life others dreams. Just listening to people describing their perfect moment, event, party, etc. and imagining how could I make it possible, brings me so much joy.
However, life kept running and I have the idea but by that time I thought I couldn’t make it on my own, that I wasn’t ready, that I needed more experience, all the thoughts that usually comes to every entrepreneur at the beginning.
Time passed by and I came to the US, somehow I armed myself with courage and I said to my self, it’s now or never, so I put most of my saving down for investments and that is how Elegant Event Decor born on 2023.
I’m not going to lie, first year was really hard and tougher than I expected. Specially because I was keeping my 2 jobs and trying to make the business work at the same time. I’m so glad I didn’t give up.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely this journey is being like a rollercoaster.
I started this company with my best friend, but later on we decided to split apart and I think that was one of my biggest challenges, cause again, you start thinking… “maybe this wasn’t a good idea, maybe I should just shut the business and keep doing just my job, if we couldn’t make it together, of course I wouldn’t be capable to make it in my own”.
It’s well said that the real mountain sometimes is yourself.
In terms of clients and the accounts of the company, everything looked really bad, but as I said before, I’m glad I didn’t give up. I put myself to work and here we are 2 years later.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m mainly a balloon designer/ decorator. I specialize in balloon arrangements and balloon displays for any type of events like corporate events, wedding, birthday parties, graduations, quinceañeras or special occasions.
I really like help my clients to find what they are actually looking for their event, to make everything easier for them and help them to bring to life their views to make of their event a unique experience.
