Hidden Gems: Meet Te-A Hudson of Hudson Freight Iadded my other 2 businesses as well

Today we’d like to introduce you to Te-A Hudson.

Hi Te-a, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
began my entrepreneurial journey in 2016 not from a place of luxury, but from a place of survival. My husband and I started our freight agency with no money, no backup plan, and no experience, just an unshakable belief that we could build something better for our family.

At the time, life was heavy. I had just given birth to our fourth child and was recovering from congestive heart failure. Going back to work wasn’t an option because day care was too expensive and there was alot of drama at the time at my job. We were facing eviction, on the verge of losing our vehicle, and barely holding it together financially. The numbers at my job weren’t adding up, and honestly, neither was the stress. So I made the hard decision to quit and come home to build the business with my husband, full-time, full faith and with no guarantees that this would work and that we would bring in income.

We had to push through all the BS, the negativity from outsiders, the pressure from every direction, and the lies I was telling myself, that his wasn’t going to work and we both needed jobs. There were days I cried. Days I questioned everything. People talked. Some even laughed. But we kept showing up. This journey tested every ounce of faith we had. And we didn’t fold.

Through the tears, the setbacks, and the silence from those who didn’t believe in us, we built our business from the ground up and scaled our freight agency to seven figures.

Today, I don’t just run a business. I mentor and empower others, especially women, who are tired of surviving and ready to build something real. Because if I could do it in the middle of chaos, with everything stacked against me, then I know for a fact: they can too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to where I am now has been anything but easy. It’s been filled with late nights, silent seasons, failed attempts, and a whole lot of pressure. There were days we didn’t know how we were going to pay the bills, keep the lights on, or put gas in the car. We were building a business while trying to keep our family afloat and that’s a different kind of weight most people don’t talk about.

There were moments of deep self-doubt. I questioned if I was cut out for this. I felt behind, overwhelmed, and unsupported. And on top of that, the noise from outsiders didn’t help. Everyone had an opinion, some encouraging, many discouraging. But what hurt the most was battling the negative self-talk in my own head. That inner voice trying to convince me to play it safe, to go back to the old life that almost broke me. I didn’t see in me what others saw, as far as being able to be successful as an entrepreneur and make money while doing it.

We faced major challenges, customers who told us “NO”, they didn’t need our services or when I did get a customer, there were some who wouldn’t send enough freight to survive or they would stop sending freight. We were learning the industry from scratch, burning out from doing too much, and dealing with people who didn’t take us seriously but every single struggle taught us something. It refined us. It made us stronger, smarter, and more focused.

Looking back now, I realize those hard moments built my resilience. The road wasn’t smooth, but it made the success mean so much more.

“I wasn’t built to break, I was built to build and every obstacle became the blueprint.”

As you know, we’re big fans of Hudson Freight Iadded my other 2 businesses as well. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I wear many hats and every one of them was built from purpose, passion, and lived experience. Today, I operate multiple businesses that reflect who I am: a woman who turned struggle into strategy and now helps others do the same.

Hudson Freight & TruckN 2 Profit:
We’re more than just a freight agency, we’re a launching pad for aspiring freight agents. Hudson Freight handles full-service freight operations for shippers around the US but outside of moving freight we’re best known for our mentorship brand, TruckN 2 Profit, where we train, mentor, and place new freight agents into real opportunities.
We specialize in guiding people who have no book of business, no prior experience, and a deep desire to build something of their own. What sets us apart? Real mentorship from real agents. No fluff. No empty promises. Just strategies, systems, and support from people actively working in the freight industry.
We’ve built our agency to 7 figures, and we’ve helped others create income, freedom, and legacy through logistics.

Her Digital Start:
This brand was born from the heart of women, especially moms, who are ready to shift from burnout to passive income. Through Her Digital Start, I help women break into digital entrepreneurship by selling digital products, automating their online business, and building wealth through content. We focus on done-for-you digital products, marketing tools, and coaching that meets women where they are whether they’re stay-at-home moms, corporate escapees, or side hustlers ready to scale. This is where we teach you how to use your voice, your story, and your skills to monetize online, even if you’re starting from scratch.

Virtue Care Services:
As a licensed GAPP provider in Georgia, Virtue Care Services offers in-home healthcare support for medically fragile children. We serve families who are navigating life with serious medical needs and limited resources many of whom don’t have the option to work because their child requires around-the-clock care. We step in to help, providing services that allow parents to become paid caregivers for their own children, while ensuring these children receive compassionate, consistent care at home. This business is close to my heart, rooted in love, community, and faith.

Every brand I’ve built has one thing in common: transformation. Whether I’m helping someone move freight, build a digital brand, or care for their child, I’m showing them how to reclaim their power, walk in purpose, and create a life that feels good to wake up to.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
To me, risk isn’t just a business concept, it’s been a part of my life from the very beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. I didn’t start my first business with a cushion or a fallback plan. I started with no money, four kids, a newborn baby, and a heart still healing from congestive heart failure. I left my job when the numbers weren’t adding up and the stress was too high not because I was “ready,” but because I had no other choice but to believe in myself and what we were building.

That was the biggest risk of all: betting on myself with everything on the line.

I’ve learned that risk is often disguised as opportunity in uncomfortable clothes. It never feels like the right time. It’s scary. It stretches you and sometimes, it makes you question everything but every major breakthrough in my life has come on the other side of a decision that scared me.

I don’t take risks recklessly, I take them with intention. I measure the cost of staying stuck just as much as I measure the fear of moving forward. To me, the real risk is in doing nothing. In ignoring that tug on your spirit. In settling for a life that doesn’t light you up.

Whether it’s starting a freight agency with no money, launching digital products without a huge audience, or stepping into an industry most people don’t understand, I’ve taken a lot of risks and not all of them paid off immediately but they always taught me something. They shaped me and they made room for something greater.

So no, I may not be the traditional “risk-taker” chasing shiny trends but I’m always willing to bet on obedience, on purpose, and on faith even when the path isn’t clear.
