Rising Stars: Meet Naeemah Wilson of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naeemah Wilson.

Hi Naeemah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My passion for wellness and transformation has been a guiding force throughout my life. Growing up as an athlete, I developed a health-conscious mindset that laid the foundation for my career. This foundation led me to Planet Fitness, where I started as a fitness instructor and quickly ascended through leadership roles. When I relocated to Atlanta, I had the honor of becoming the first Certified Training Manager in our franchise of over 30 locations, a milestone that allowed me to train new managers across the company. In that role, I helped shape the leadership bench across 39 clubs, instilling performance standards, operational consistency, and a culture of accountability.

However, my desire to help people feel confident and empowered in their skin naturally led me into the aesthetics and medspa industry. Today, I serve as the Store Director at Semper Laser in Atlanta, where I’m also one of only six Certified Training Managers across the company’s 40+ locations. Since launching that program, I’ve spearheaded training initiatives throughout the Atlanta market — from sales consultants to store directors — while also developing internal training materials to streamline onboarding and enhance sales performance. It’s not just about building teams; it’s about empowering individuals to unlock their full potential.

When I first joined Semper Laser, my location was generating just $30K in monthly revenue. After stepping into the role of Store Director, I turned things around, driving revenue to $90K, and have maintained a steady range between $90K and $110K. Our highest month was a remarkable $126K. This is a true testament to the commitment and resilience of the team. At times, I’ve had to run operations solo, but I never lost sight of the vision.

What truly drives me is transformation — not just in the numbers, but in people. To me, great leadership means creating structure, leading with empathy, and fostering an environment where others can grow. Whether it’s mentoring a new manager, helping a client regain confidence, or turning around a location in need of revival, I approach each challenge with heart, strategy, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today hasn’t always been without its challenges, and those moments have shaped me into the leader I am now. One significant challenge occurred when I was temporarily moved to a different location. This shift had an impact on the dynamics of my original team, and as a result, morale dropped, and business performance suffered. I felt firsthand how leadership transitions can affect both team culture and client trust. During that period, I was faced with navigating the complexities of a tough situation, but I remained focused on the bigger picture and the long-term goals.

When I returned to my original location, I knew rebuilding would take effort and focus. I implemented new marketing and in-store initiatives aimed at restoring client trust and bringing in new clients. While we haven’t yet fully returned to our peak performance, I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken to revitalize the business and foster stronger connections with our clients.

Throughout these challenges, I’ve learned that leadership is about more than just hitting numbers. It’s about persevering through tough times, maintaining a strong sense of integrity, and always prioritizing the growth and well-being of my team. Every setback provided an opportunity to learn and grow, and those lessons continue to fuel my passion for transformation, both in the business and in the people I work with.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in leadership and team development, with a strong focus on driving sales performance and client satisfaction. Throughout my career, I’ve been recognized for my ability to inspire and lead teams toward achieving their fullest potential, even in challenging circumstances.

What sets me apart is my approach to leadership: I’m passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth. I believe that when people feel supported, empowered, and aligned with a common vision, they’re more motivated to achieve outstanding results. My commitment to developing talent within my teams and mentoring new leaders has been a key part of my success.

I’m particularly proud of the initiatives I’ve led to improve our marketing efforts and internal processes. These efforts have played a significant role in rebuilding client trust and driving new business. I focus on long-term growth and am always looking for innovative ways to improve our strategies and drive results. At the core of everything I do is a commitment to excellence — not just for the team, but for the clients we serve.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I believe success is a collective effort, and I’ve been fortunate to have had incredible mentors, teammates, and supporters along the way. I’d especially like to acknowledge the invaluable guidance and support from Dee Sullivan, our VP, and Cristie Johnson, our National Director of Sales. Their leadership and mentorship have been crucial in shaping my career, providing me with the strategic direction and encouragement needed to excel.

I’m also deeply grateful for the dedication and hard work of my team at Semper Laser. Their belief in the vision and commitment to excellence have been central to our success. Without their collaboration, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve such remarkable growth.

Additionally, my clients have been a huge source of inspiration and motivation. Their trust in our services and their feedback have pushed us to continuously improve and adapt to meet their needs.

Ultimately, success is about the people who surround you and the collective effort to move forward. I’m proud to work alongside such an incredible group of individuals who have all contributed in their own ways to the business’s growth and success.
