Today we’d like to introduce you to Temi Erinle.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I unexpectedly started my event planning, decoration, and party rental business. A friend’s son was turning 10, and she didn’t have much money for decorations. I offered to help out and let my creative side take the lead. When she saw the decor, she was so excited—and honestly, so was I. Around the same time, my daughter was about to turn 5, so I used that opportunity to create something special for her too.
My friend posted pictures of her son’s party on social media, and the positive feedback from her friends and family surprised me. That was the moment I realized I might be onto something. I took it as a sign to turn my passion into a business. Planning events and bringing visions to life comes naturally to me—it’s truly a gift I enjoy sharing with others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges for me has been balancing the business with family life. As a mother and entrepreneur, it can be tough to manage time, especially when events fall on weekends or require late-night prep. I’ve had to learn how to set boundaries and prioritize so I can give my best to both my clients and my loved ones.
Another challenge has been working with clients who have big visions but limited budgets. Some clients come with high expectations for elaborate decorations, but their budgets don’t always match the vision. It can be tricky, but I do my best to explain what’s possible within their budget and still deliver something beautiful and memorable. It’s taught me to be more creative, flexible, and honest in my communication.
Another struggle was pricing—learning how to charge fairly for my time and effort without undervaluing myself was something I had to grow into. There were moments when I questioned if I should keep going, but the joy I feel after a successful event and the smiles on my clients’ faces keep reminding me why I started. Every challenge has helped me grow stronger, more confident, and more resourceful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in event planning, decoration, and party rentals for all types of celebrations—birthdays, baby showers, weddings, graduations, and more. I help clients bring their vision to life through creative, elegant, and personalized decor that fits their style and budget. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a big celebration, I focus on the details that make the day feel special and memorable.
I’m known for my creativity, reliability, and the way I work closely with clients to understand exactly what they want, even when they’re not quite sure how to express it. I love transforming simple spaces into something magical, using color, design, and thoughtful touches that make people say “wow.”
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come—building this business from scratch, often with limited resources, and growing through word of mouth and client referrals. There’s no better feeling than seeing someone walk into their event space and be blown away by what they see.
What sets me apart is that I truly care. I treat each event like it’s my own. I bring passion, heart, and a personal touch to everything I do. I’m not just providing a service—I’m helping create joyful memories that last a lifetime.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned on this journey is the value of knowing your worth. In the beginning, I often undercharged just to get bookings, but over time, I realized that my time, creativity, and effort have real value. Learning to confidently charge for what I bring to the table has been a big step in growing both my business and my confidence.
Another key lesson is that not every client is your client, and that’s okay. I’ve learned to trust my instincts, set boundaries, and stay true to my style and standards. The right clients will appreciate your work, your process, and your passion.
Finally, I’ve learned that consistency, kindness, and professionalism go a long way. Every event is an opportunity to grow, build relationships, and leave a lasting impression.
