Exploring Life & Business with Marquarius Johnson of REVAJ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquarius Johnson.

Hi Marquarius , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off in my hometown, Birmingham, Alabama. I use to work my regular 9-5 shifts. I’ve always had a passion for acting. On my free time, or while on my shift. I would always find ways to shoot a short skit for my online supporters. I then had an era where I would recreate celebrity wardrobes in a parody way. After that, I then switched over to hair tutorials with voiceover story times. After all the time of producing content. I began to feel drained of working my job and also trying to produce consistent content at the same time. I then decide to apply for jobs in Atlanta, to began working from there and to have better networking opportunities. During my transition of moving I had a made up character with the name of Jayoncè. I would do fake live rants mimicking how dramatic women would act on live, with characters Jayoncè, Dyrell, & Shayla., and I would produce that content while working and driving for Lyft, and my hair tutorial story times when I was home. I then begin to get into TikTok, where I would stitch people’s videos and make jokes, and people loved it. I took off from then on, i kept the ball rolling. I didn’t successfully get to network as I thought, but I successfully became who I am now. I still focus on my original content, but more of my focus lately has been on fashion and get ready with me videos. My original content is still being shared at times, but what makes me more motivated now is Looking good. The road doesn’t end here, it just started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is always going to get a little bumpy. When I left my hometown Birmingham, I stopped paying my car note because I couldn’t afford to pay a car note, plus rent. Then COVID came, & my car got repossessed while at the barbershop getting a haircut, going to visit my hometown Birmingham. I then had to move back to Birmingham to work and save up for a new car. While doing that, I still made sure to keep paying my rent back in Atl because the plan was to stay in Birmingham to save for a car, and then go back to Atl. I had help in Birmingham, and had no help in Atlanta, so I had to go where I had help. During COVID, it was a struggle to get a good job to save for a car, but it did give me more push to put out more content.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started a hair growth oil business called REVAJ. WWW.REVAJ.SHOP
The reason I started This business is because I wanted to grow my hair, but everytime I would try. My hair wouldn’t grow on one side. I tried all different types of products to help it, but nothing worked. I then began to research different natural oils and plants that benefits hair growth, and came up with a plan. My oil is all natural and promotes hair thickness and growth. What sets me apart is the way I promote my business. I don’t demand anyone to try, I don’t persuade. I try letting my product itself do the promoting. I am most proud of how successfully my business is growing because I didn’t start my business for others at first. It was for my personal gain, but I decided to share it.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is when me and my cousins would go Trick or Treating in a neighborhood called Tarrant, in Alabama. Every year on Halloween nights, everyone came out in their costumes to go trick or treating and walk thru scary houses. Now days you can’t do that anymore because of how cruel some of the people in the world became
