Inspiring Conversations with James Spence of 3o7 Promotion & Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Spence.

Hi James, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started djing 5 years ago, right before COVID. My first paid gig was on the same day as the day they told us we weren’t coming back to school. I practiced plenty of times before in the back of my teacher’s class and got to the point where I started getting good. COVID came, and I spent the next 6 months practicing everyday. got to college and started djing and throwing kickbacks in my dorm room so more practice. Once COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, I shot my shot with the school. Got my first paid gig in the spring and took off from there, becoming the campus’s main dj for their events year-round. During my time on campus, I formed two LLCs an apparel company and a Promotions and Entertainment Management Company. I placed in 4 Pitch competitions, winning a free trip to Washington, DC for a private pitch competition. After graduating, I decided to continue working on my business while becoming a brand ambassador for PoUp Card Game. Using that partnership, I was able to get over 3 million views cross-platforms. i have big plans for everything i’m doing just taking it day by day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, been more bumps then you’d ever know but sometimes you have to learn as you go. rejection, lack of funds, lack of commitment, lack of transportation, lack of time, etc.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 3o7 Promotion & Management?
3o7 Promotions and Management is an entertainment company throwing events, djing, contracting, promoting etc. day to day i find things to post, respond to emails, order things alot of administrative things, but my weekends are usually long. I’m proud of how far I’ve gotten never saw this for myself. Anything you want we’ll make it happen events, ideas, music etc.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
