Meet Nikita Fair of Brookhaven, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikita Fair.

Hi Nikita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally an immigrant from Ukraine. I came to America when I was 10 years old and did not know the language at all. I lived in a small town in Georgia and started playing football in high school. I have never lifted weight in my life up until that point and had no idea how football was even played. However, the coaches saw that I was 6’5 and knew I had potential. Over the years I gained a lot of muscle and weight as I became a highly recruited offensive line player in the state of Georgia. At my heaviest, I was over 300 pounds. When it was time to go to college, I had several full ride scholarships. However, my immigration paperwork never fully got completed so I had to decline those offers and not go to college at all for 2 years. In that time I decided to lose weight because I always felt and looked so bad. I started cooking low calorie recipes and eventually lost over 100 pounds. I eventually went to college at UGA and got a great job after graduating. I was lacking a creative outlet I so badly needed and decided to start posting some cooking videos that focused on the food that helped me lose weight. It was an immediate success and I continued to do this for years. Eventually, my pages have grown to millions of followers and social media has become my full time career. Now I continue to do what I love all while helping people with the struggles I had when I was younger. A truly blessed life in my opinion.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. I wanted to give up so many times on social media. My wife (gf at the time) continued to push me through all of the challenges I faced and is the only reason I am still doing this today. She has helped me with every single video and has been my rock through all of this. I remember when I was not getting paid at all from social media and we just spend hours cooking for a video after work. It flopped really badly and I was ready to quit. I kept asking myself why I am taking time away from my career to make stupid cooking videos that people don’t like. My wife calmed me down and told me to continue on despite slight hurdles like this. To this day I think I would have quit if it wasn’t for her.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I make delicious high protein and low calorie meals that look and taste like cheat meals. Things like burritos, pastas, burgers, and more! I want to show that you do not have to give up your favorite foods in order to get into the best shape of your life. I sell a digital cookbook that includes all of my recipes online and some that are exclusive to the cookbook.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a Ukrainian immigrant and speak fluent Russian
