My journey started with a desire to create something meaningful that reflected my passion for beauty, style, and self-expression. I launched GRACEBYKEDA with the vision of offering high-quality, affordable cosmetics and accessories that help women feel confident and seen.
At first, it was just an idea — a side hustle while I balanced everyday life. I researched, tested products, and learned the business one step at a time. There were setbacks, but also moments of growth that fueled my drive. What really pushed me forward was knowing that I could build something that was mine — something with purpose.
Today, GRACEBYKEDA is not just a brand — it’s a community. A reflection of grace, hustle, and authenticity. I’m still growing, learning, and creating — and I’m proud of how far I’ve come
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road — but it’s been real, and that’s what’s made the journey so meaningful.
There were times I struggled with funding, slow sales, and the learning curve of running a business on my own. I didn’t come from a background in entrepreneurship, so I had to teach myself everything — from product sourcing to marketing to branding.
On a personal level, I’ve faced job loss, emotional hardships, and moments of deep self-doubt. Balancing life’s responsibilities while trying to grow something from the ground up hasn’t always been easy. There were times I questioned if I was doing enough or if I was even capable of succeeding.
But every obstacle taught me resilience. I had to learn how to stay grounded in my vision, even when things weren’t going my way. And honestly, those tough moments helped me build a business — and a mindset — that’s stronger and more authentic today.
