Today we’d like to introduce you to Asha Ketchum.
Hi Asha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey really began with creativity at the core. I’ve always loved expressing myself through art, whether that was through drawing, crafting, or later, makeup and cosplay. What started as a hobby turned into a passion and I began experimenting with body paint, special effects, and gender-bent cosplay looks that allowed me to tell stories visually.
After going through a really tough period , I decided to really double down on my creative work as a form of healing and empowerment. I started sharing my looks on social media and gradually built a community.
Now, I create content part-time, focusing on SFX, cosplay, and DIY beauty. Through it all, my goal has stayed the same: create bold, imaginative work that inspires others to be expressive and unapologetically themselves.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve faced a lot of personal and financial setbacks. There were moments of doubt, burnout, and feeling unseen despite the work I was putting in. Balancing content creation with survival wasn’t easy, but those struggles pushed me to be more creative, resilient, and resourceful. Every obstacle taught me how to bet on myself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a content creator and cosplayer who specializes in body paint, SFX makeup, and creative transformation. My work blends beauty, art, and storytelling and often through bold, gender-bent looks and themed series that push the boundaries of cosplay. I’m most known for turning unexpected ideas into full characters and for my ability to make low-budget materials look high-concept.
What I’m most proud of is how I built my platform and community from scratch, during one of the hardest times in my life. I didn’t wait for perfect conditions and I created anyway. What sets me apart is my perspective: I bring emotion, grit, and personal storytelling into every look. I want people to see the power in expressing yourself fully, even when life’s messy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has definitely played a role, both good and bad. I’ve had moments of bad luck that completely shook my world, like losing my job . But those moments also pushed me to take risks I might not have otherwise taken.
On the flip side, I’ve had moments of good luck.Like the right person seeing my work at the right time or getting opportunities I didn’t expect. But overall, I think it’s been more about staying ready, showing up consistently, and turning even the worst luck into motivation.
