Life & Work with Storm Perez of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Storm Perez.

Hi Storm, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from New Orleans, La. Two years ago, I made a decision that would change my life—I packed up everything I had, I knew continuing my business of being a makeup artist & custom wig creator in another state would truly be the best decision for me. So, I left behind all that was familiar, and moved to Atlanta, GA with nothing but a dream in my heart and faith guiding my every step. I didn’t have a full plan. I didn’t have a safety net. All I had was a deep, unshakable belief that there was something more waiting for me, and I was willing to risk it all to find it.

The journey wasn’t easy. There were nights I cried in silence, wondering if I made a mistake. I faced rejection, loneliness, and moments where I questioned whether I was really built for this. There were times I wanted to give up, when the weight of it all felt too heavy—but I didn’t. I kept going. I kept showing up. I stayed consistent even when nothing around me was certain. I worked on myself, pushed through my fears, and trusted God with every step I couldn’t see.

And now… I’m flourishing.

Not just on the outside, but within. I’ve grown in confidence, in strength, in purpose. Doors have opened. Connections have aligned. And I’m finally starting to live the life I used to pray for. It’s still a journey, and I know there’s more ahead—but I’m walking proof that faith, consistency, and heart can carry you through the darkest seasons and into the light.

Atlanta wasn’t just a move—it was the beginning of becoming who I was always meant to be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving to Atlanta with just a dream and faith was bold—but reality hit quickly. One of the hardest parts was having to put my passion on hold just to stay afloat. I had big dreams, but bills still had to be paid, and survival often had to come before creativity.

There were moments where I felt like I was losing myself—working jobs that drained me just to keep going, while my purpose sat on the back burner. It was frustrating to feel so close to what I wanted, yet stuck in situations that made it feel out of reach. At times, I questioned if the sacrifices were even worth it.

But even through the uncertainty, I held onto my vision. I reminded myself that delaying the dream didn’t mean denying it. Every tough season was building me, teaching me patience, resilience, and faith. And little by little, things began to shift. The same passion I once had to press pause on is now starting to blossom in ways I never imagined.

So no, the road wasn’t smooth—but it was worth every bump, every detour, and every late-night prayer. Because I’m still here, still growing, and still moving forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

We’d love to learn more about your work.

I’m a passionate makeup artist, custom wig maker, and hairstylist—a true one-stop shop for beauty and transformation. Whether it’s a flawless beat, a perfectly tailored wig, or a fresh hairstyle, I specialize in helping each client feel seen, celebrated, and absolutely confident. My work goes beyond beauty—it’s about creating experiences where people leave not only looking good, but feeling empowered.

What do you specialize in?

My specialty is simple but powerful: making every client feel special, valued, and beautiful in their own skin. I listen deeply to what people want, and I pour love and intention into everything I do—whether I’m customizing a wig or blending the perfect shade of foundation. It’s important to me that every person who sits in my chair feels uplifted when they walk out.

What are you known for?

Honestly? I’m known for being me. My authentic self is what people remember. I’m sweet, understanding, and deeply committed to what I do. People often say I’m someone you meet once and never forget—and that means the world to me. I’m a hard worker, driven by goals and fueled by my past. I’ve faced real challenges, heartbreak, and setbacks—but instead of letting them break me, I let them push me toward my purpose. I’m a survivor, and that strength shows up in how I treat people and how I show up in my craft.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my determination to keep going. No matter what life has thrown at me, I’ve never let it stop me. I’ve had to start over, rebuild, and grow through painful moments, but I never gave up. The fact that I’m still standing, still dreaming, still creating—that’s my proudest achievement.

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart is my mindset. I’ve learned to accept that not every door is meant to stay open—and that’s okay. Because I believe that even when a door closes, there’s always an open window if you’re willing to look for it. That kind of faith, resilience, and perspective is what keeps me rising and what I bring into every aspect of my work. I’m not just doing hair or makeup—I’m helping people feel whole, bold, and beautiful.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that I believe has been most important to my success is resilience. Life has thrown a lot my way—challenges, heartbreak, closed doors—but I never let any of it stop me. I’ve learned how to keep pushing, even when things feel uncertain or overwhelming. That inner strength, that quiet “keep going” voice, is what’s carried me through every season.

Resilience has allowed me to stay grounded in my purpose, even when I had to put my passion on hold. It’s what helped me turn struggles into fuel, and setbacks into comebacks. I don’t quit—I adapt, I grow, and I rise. That’s what has gotten me this far, and it’s what will carry me even further.
