Hidden Gems: Meet Amariya Slaton of Life With Liyah (YouTube)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amariya Slaton.

Hi Amariya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
So i started youtube in July of 2022 just out of curiosity and the urge to try something new. I honestly was kind of nervous and I felt like I was just trying to do it out of boredom. But a few months later after I started, I uploaded my 17th birthday vlog in October of 2022 as well. After seeing it do so many numbers and get so much attention that’s when I had a feeling that maybe content creation was for me. That was literally my first “viral video”! I received over 1000 views, hundreds of likes, and even reached 200 subscribers all because of that video! Sadly only a few weeks later I fell into a mini depression so I lost all motivation for content creation at the time. I deleted every video off youtube and if i’m not mistaken I had at least 3 or 4 up. Then I begin TikTok content because I didn’t just want to give up. But I knew that wasn’t all I was capable of. So now 3 years later, I’ve gotten a camera which helped me gain motivation and now i’m back in that mode lol and ready to give it my all again, 100% this time. As of now in July 2025, I have two videos uploaded & still creating TikTok content, even started a twitch account and ready to explore more options!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t obstacle free like I stated previously but during my rebrand time right now, it’s definitely getting better. With the right support system, self motivation, discipline, and God of course it gets easier. You just have to believe in yourself no matter what. And also don’t rush anything! Let everything run its course!

We’ve been impressed with Life With Liyah (YouTube), but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Of course I can. I wouldn’t consider it a “brand” just yet. It will be very soon, just stay tuned a little while longer. But as of right now i’m mostly just working on being a successful influencer/content creator. My main platform that i’m trying to focus on is YouTube but i’m also on Instagram & TikTok of course but now i’m thinking about expanding a little bit more & going on Twitch 😉

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
YES. FIND YOUR NICHE. If you’re an aspiring content creator it’s important to find a niche. If you don’t know what that is, it basically means pick a certain type of content you want to make. Like with me i’m more of an IRL influencer. I like to show my life, me trying new things, living the college life, etc. I also mix it with a little bit of fashion too. So personally my niche is “Lifestyle & Fashion”.
