Rising Stars: Meet Canon Creationz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Canon Creationz.

Canon Creationz

Hi Canon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly starting photography wasn’t my idea at the beginning, it was kind of an accident. My mom was getting married and wanted some photos taken of the ceremony. My brother (The original photographer lol) was supposed to take her pictures but he ended up being busy that day plus we were traveling to our hometown for the wedding. He came to me saying I’d need to take the pictures and basically gave me the basics on how to work his camera etc.. Honestly at the time I was young and was more focused on pursuing a career in dancing so a career in photography never honestly crossed my mind. Later on down the line once I hit high school my junior year I started taking photography classes, I was also practicing graphic design as well. The head coach for our schools football team reached out to me and asked if I was okay with being the manager for the team and take pictures for them also, I’m a huge fan of football so I was thrilled!! My brother got me a camera and after my first shoot I fell in love with sports photography!! After that I just started taking photography seriously for a while.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not, I struggled with depression and losing motivation at one point during my career, I stopped dancing taking photos, stopped making TikToks.. it was a rough patch but with the help of Family and Prayer I was able to start back up on my craft, I genuinely wanted to give up at that point.. but I knew I couldn’t… I had people to make proud and loads of people to prove wrong. I know how it feels to wanna give up on everything you once love or do love.. but just know it gets better. You gotta continue through that dark tunnel until you get to the end where the light shines bright.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently in my career I’m most proud of how far I’ve come despite dealing with depression, anxiety, losing motivation I still pushed to continue pursuing my career in photography. My mom inspired me to always keep pushing despite what tries to break me down, she’s one of the most strongest people I know.

I started doing photography because I love the smile it puts on my clients faces when I capture them doing something they love to do wether that’s being with family, celebrating a special moment, sports, and all. Making people happy makes me happy and I hope to continue putting smiles on people faces when I turn their vision into everlasting memories.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, to others I was quiet and very shy, goofy once I’m comfortable with you lol, as a kid I was more so into dancing.. I taught myself how to dance when I was 10 years old, I always recorded myself doing any dance that was popular or even creating my own choreography. When I grew up I wanted to become a backup dancer as well as a choreographer, 2 years later I started photography.. once I turned 14 I hit a patch where I lost complete motivation for the things I was once loved to do. Later on down the line my junior year in high school I was solely focused on photography but dancing was still something I wanted to get back into. Stay Tuned because maybe one day I will.
