Conversations with Elisha Akram

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisha Akram .

Elisha Akram

Hi Elisha , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey wasn’t something I planned, but looking back, I realize I’ve always been doing the things that led me here. From childhood through my teens and into adulthood, I’ve always been a creative person. Whether it was capturing fun moments with family and friends or taking photos of the crafts I made, my camera was always in my hands. So when I “officially” became a photographer, it felt like a natural progression. Reflecting on my path, I’m truly grateful for how everything has come together to bring me to where I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t necessarily been a smooth ride—it’s been a journey of discovery and continuous learning. When you step into something new, you don’t always have all the answers, and sometimes, the people in your immediate network may not have the knowledge or experience to guide you. That has led to plenty of obstacles along the way, from figuring things out on my own to navigating challenges without a clear roadmap. But each challenge has been a lesson, shaping me into the creative entrepreneur I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a professional photographer and content creator, specializing in special event photography, branding, and lifestyle imagery that helps small business owners market their businesses and families capture meaningful moments. Through Kustom Kreation Photography, I don’t just take photos—I create visual stories that leave lasting impressions.

I’m known for making my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera, capturing authentic moments, and delivering images that truly reflect their personality and brand. Beyond photography, I also help businesses build a strong online presence by creating engaging social media content, including visual posts, short-form videos, and strategic marketing campaigns.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the ability to merge my creativity with my business sense, allowing me to serve my clients in multiple ways. Whether it’s photographing an event, crafting a content strategy, or coaching someone on how to present their brand visually, I love being a resource for others.

What sets me apart is my deep passion for storytelling, my ability to make people feel at ease, and my commitment to quality. Plus, my background in crafting and party planning adds a unique touch—I know how to bring a vision to life, whether it’s through photography, decor, or branding. Ultimately, I take pride in helping people show up as their best selves, whether in their personal milestones or professional journey

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that most people don’t know about me is that before I officially became a photographer, I was deeply involved in crafting and custom party decor. I was the go-to person for personalized party supplies, shipping unique creations all over the country. That background in design and event planning still influences my work today—I have an eye for detail, composition, and creating visually appealing setups, which carries over into my photography and content creation.

Another surprising fact is that I’ve always been a documenter at heart. Long before picking up a professional camera, I was the one capturing moments at family gatherings, keeping old-school photo albums, and preserving memories. Photography wasn’t just a career choice; it was a natural evolution of something I’ve always done.
