Conversations with Nasceas Timms

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nasceas Timms.

Nasceas Timms

Hi Nasceas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For the last 15 years, I built my career as a television and film executive—working behind the scenes on shows and productions that reached audiences nationwide. I loved the energy of the entertainment industry, but when the Writers’ Strike hit, the landscape changed overnight. Projects stalled, budgets froze, and consistent work opportunities became scarce. Like many others in the creative field, I found myself in an uncertain place, facing the question: “What now?”

Around that same time, my 72-year-old mother, Bessie Taylor, was having trouble caring for our aging family dog after we were displaced by a house fire in 2022. She mentioned how hard it had become to manage simple tasks like letting the dog out or cleaning up after him. That moment stuck with me—not just because of her struggle, but because it made me realize how many other people must feel the same way: overwhelmed, underserved, and quietly sacrificing their bond with their pets due to something as manageable as dog waste.

That’s when the idea for Tidy Tails Waste Solutions was born.

Tidy Tails isn’t just a pet waste removal company—it’s a labor of love, a family mission, and a career pivot with purpose. My mom and I launched the business together here in Atlanta with one goal: to give busy families, elderly pet owners, property managers, and pet-friendly businesses a cleaner, safer, and more dignified outdoor space—one scoop at a time.

We go beyond cleaning yards. We give people time back. We give seniors peace of mind. We help families keep the pets they love without the stress of cleanup. And in doing so, we’ve built a brand that’s not only practical, but personal.

For me, transitioning from television to poop scooping may sound like a wild plot twist—but it’s the most fulfilling script I’ve ever been part of. At Tidy Tails, we believe in the power of small acts of service to make a big difference. Whether it’s deodorizing a yard, showing up with a smile, or just locking the gate behind us so pets stay safe—we bring heart to every home we visit.

This isn’t just our business. It’s our story. And we’re proud to share it.

Here’s a review that was posted by one of our customers that really touched my heart:

My family is originally from New York, but my oldest aunt moved to Atlanta after retiring about six years ago. A few years back, she was diagnosed with emphysema and now has difficulty walking even short distances without having to stop and catch her breath.

She has a large backyard and three miniature Schnauzers who are her constant companions—but about two months ago, she told me she was thinking of giving them up. She simply couldn’t manage letting them out because she couldn’t keep up with cleaning the yard.

That’s when I started searching for a solution and came across Tidy Tails Waste Solutions. They responded immediately and began weekly poop pickup service. The difference has been incredible.

Thanks to Tidy Tails, my aunt didn’t have to part with her dogs. When we visited her over the July 4th weekend, her backyard was spotless—and I’m not exaggerating when I say it smelled like a field of lemons. I’ve never experienced a yard that fresh before.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you, Tidy Tails. You’re doing more than just scooping poop… you’re improving lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and to be honest, I wouldn’t expect it to be. When we first launched Tidy Tails Waste Solutions, I underestimated just how deeply our services would touch people’s lives. I thought we were just solving a convenience issue. What I didn’t anticipate was how much of a difference we could make in people’s day-to-day quality of life—especially for seniors, people with physical limitations, and busy families who love their pets but need help managing the responsibility that comes with them.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was internal. I had to process the fact that I went from managing multi-million dollar television and film productions to scooping dog poop for a living. That transition wasn’t easy. On paper, it felt like a huge pivot—maybe even a step backward. But one thing my parents always instilled in me was the belief that dignity can be found in any kind of work. That stuck with me. And the more homes we served, the more I realized how meaningful this work really is.

I’m 46 years old, starting over in an entirely different industry—with my 72-year-old mother as my business partner. That alone would be a plot twist in any life story. But what I brought with me was something invaluable: my experience working behind the scenes in film and television, along with my earlier career as Director of Internal Audit at Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ. I was able to apply my production management and business acumen to the operations, customer care, and growth strategy for Tidy Tails.

From Day 1, we set the bar high—not just in how we cleaned yards, but in how we treated people. We built this company on the belief that exceptional customer service is what makes a small business thrive, and we’ve stayed committed to that every step of the way.

So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But it’s been meaningful, it’s been humbling, and it’s been worth every step.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
With respect to myself, I bring a diverse professional background that spans law, finance, and over 15 years of high-level production experience in television and live events.

I began my journey at Clark Atlanta University—an experience that shaped me deeply both culturally and academically—before transferring and earning my Bachelor’s in Political Science from Georgia State University, with a minor in English. I am also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, initiated through the Gamma Kappa Chapter.

Professionally, I started in public service, working as a paralegal for the City of Atlanta’s Legislative Council under Stacey Abrams when she served as Deputy City Attorney. From there, I transitioned into finance, serving as Director of Internal Audit at Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City. But it was in the creative industry that I truly found my lane.

As a Line Producer and Executive in Charge of Production, I’ve led multi-million-dollar productions, overseeing budgets up to $9 million, managing teams of 100+, and delivering award-winning television and live experiences. Some career highlights include working on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for three years, FOX’s New Year’s Eve Live from Times Square with Steve Harvey, the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest, and Love & Hip Hop NY, among many others.

What sets me apart is my ability to lead both creatively and operationally—a rare combination rooted in my analytical background in finance and law, fused with my artistic sensibilities in production. I’m proud to have cultivated a reputation for being the calm in the storm—someone who brings structure to chaos, while respecting the humanity of everyone involved.

Most of all, I’m proud that at every phase of my career, I’ve reinvented myself with intention and integrity—from law, to finance, to film—and now, I bring that same entrepreneurial spirit to new ventures. Whether managing multi-million-dollar productions or launching community-focused businesses, I believe success is about purpose, passion, and precision.

With respect to the company, at Tidy Tails Waste Solutions, we specialize in professional dog waste removal—also known as pet waste management—for both residential and commercial clients across the Atlanta metro area. That means we provide weekly, bi-weekly, and one-time pooper scooper services for homeowners, renters, luxury HOAs, apartment communities, dog parks, and pet-friendly businesses. We also offer yard deodorizing, sanitation, and seasonal lawn services like aeration and overseeding to help keep outdoor spaces clean, odor-free, and safe for pets and people.

But what we really do goes far beyond just scooping poop.

We restore dignity and peace of mind to people who either don’t have the time, physical ability, or desire to clean up after their pets. Seniors who want to keep their dogs but can’t manage the cleanup. Busy parents juggling a thousand responsibilities. Families who just want a yard they can walk through barefoot again. We’re there for all of them.

What I’m most proud of is how we’ve built a brand that truly cares. We are known for our professionalism, prompt communication, and warm, human-centered service. Whether it’s confirming a visit by text, making sure gates are always locked behind us, or simply offering a kind word to a client—we take pride in every detail.

What sets us apart is that we operate like a luxury service in an industry that’s often overlooked. From branded uniforms and clean, marked vehicles to high customer service standards and a strong community presence, we take a thoughtful, elevated approach to what we do. We’re not just a pooper scooper company—we’re a family business, a customer service company, and a trusted community partner all in one.

And perhaps most importantly—we bring heart. We’re proud to serve Atlanta and proud to prove that even the “dirtiest” work can be done with dignity, excellence, and purpose.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Just reach out—I’m very approachable and always open to collaboration. I have a real passion for mentoring, training, and developing the next generation of professionals. Whether it’s sharing insights from my years in TV and film production or offering guidance as an entrepreneur, I genuinely enjoy helping others grow.

Even with Tidy Tails, I’m not the type to stay tucked away in our downtown office. I love being out in the field, meeting our customers face-to-face, and doing the hands-on work alongside our team. It helps me stay grounded, connected, and in touch with every level of the business.

Although I’ve always been someone who thrives behind the scenes, I recognize that one of the keys to sustaining Tidy Tails’ success is stepping forward to become the face and voice of the company. And I embrace that role—because if my journey inspires even one young boy or girl to believe, “I want to be like him one day,” then it’s all worth it.

People can support us by simply spreading the word. Let a pet owner in Atlanta or the surrounding areas know that Tidy Tails Waste Solutions exists. You’d be surprised how many people don’t know that dog waste removal services—even exist. But we’re here, and we’re committed to making a difference in our communities and across the state of Georgia.
