We recently had the chance to connect with Stacey Hines and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
When I have a delicious start, it looks like meditation for 20 minutes and yoga for 15 minutes. I will pull an intention card to set the mental tone for my day. I then spend some time reading and journaling. I’m currently reading excerpts from The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer. I love that I’m able to journal in a book that I created and use intention cards I created that are a part of my wellness toolkit. This really makes me feel good and centers my mind around the possibilities that life gives us everyday. This usually takes an hour or so. I’ll then have my favorite cup of tea for the morning and if I’m really good – I’ll have some fruit! I’ll list my top 3 to do items and put on some brain music to start working.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Stacey Hines, a transformation strategist, author, and speaker/podcaster; someone who has learned, both personally and professionally, how to turn adversity into alignment. I lead a consulting and training company called Epic Transformation, where I help individuals and organizations evolve through mindset, leadership, and AI transformation.
What makes my work unique is how I blend the power of strategy and soul. I’ve lived through corporate burnout, cancer, divorce, depression; and rebuilt my life using intention, emotional wellness, and a deep understanding of how mindset shapes everything. That healing journey led me to create solutions that integrate both business and personal transformation.
Right now, I’m focused on three exciting initiatives:
DAVA, my AI-powered platform that helps leaders manage real transformation inside their companies;
Brilliance, a foundation and fund that trains and mentors young Caribbean women in tech;
And Epic Wellness, a luxury retreat and product line for persons ready to recover from burnout and reconnect with their inner brilliance.
Everything I do is grounded in this belief: we can lead powerfully and live peacefully, if we learn how to design our lives with intention.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that believed I had to earn rest, love, and worthiness through achievement. That part has served its purpose and is no longer needed. For years, I operated with a “push through it or make it happen” mindset. That survival mode helped me build a successful career, raise three children mostly on my own, and overcome some serious life challenges. But it also led to burnout, illness, and emotional exhaustion.
Now, I live and lead from a place of alignment over extreme hustle. Letting go of the old narrative has allowed me to make space for gratitude for the abundance that I have in my life, deeper peace, more authentic relationships, and work that’s rooted in purpose and less pressure. It’s also shaped the way I support other women through my luxury experiences and helping them release the patterns that no longer serve them so they can step into their next powerful chapter.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Sooo many times. In my life I’ve given up and gotten up. Meaning, at each stage of my journey there have been moments where I’ve felt like I can’t make it. Depending on how quickly I can get back to my true self and overcome the thoughts of doubt, that’s how long it will take me to find my feet again and move forward. This can take a few minutes or a few months… I’ve learned to appreciate the process of it and trust myself to get better at getting back up no matter what has taken me down.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
That the thoughts and opinions of others truly mattered; that their perception of me somehow defined my worth, my path, or even my success. This shaped so much of my life as a young adult; how I showed up, what I pursued, even how I dressed or spoke. I unconsciously focused a lot on the need to be accepted, validated, or seen a certain way.
But that belief kept me stuck in roles, relationships, and rhythms that weren’t authentic to who I really was. It took going through multiple unravelings and going through my 40s to understand that true freedom begins when we release the grip of external approval.
Now, I choose to live from the inside out. I’ve learned to value internal alignment over external applause, and I encourage the people I work with whether in business or at a retreat to build that same kind of self-trust. The truth is, other people’s opinions are filtered through their own fears and projections. Letting go of that weight has given me more peace, power, and presence than any applause ever could.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my role, and everything I “own,” what would remain is my true self; unfiltered, unbranded, and still deeply purposeful. The titles, accomplishments, and possessions are part of my human experience, but I’m figuring out that they’re not the source of my value for life. I’m leaning more into this everyday because there’s a peace in that state of mind that feels so good! It’s simple to talk about it, but it is not an easy thing to master.
