Janelle Jones on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Janelle Jones. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Janelle, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m chasing freedom: freedom of time, of location, and of choice. I want the ability to build, create, and grow on my terms while showing my kids that joy, purpose, and success can coexist. I’m building businesses that make an impact and allow me to travel the world, homeschool my kids, and live fully present in every season.

If I stopped chasing that, I’d be settling. I’d be choosing comfort over calling. And honestly, I’ve come too far, sacrificed too much, and dreamed too big to let go of what I know is possible. Not just for me, but for every creator and mom who’s watching me lead the way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Janelle Jones. I’m a digital marketing strategist, mom of two, and founder of 4kiddos, a tech platform that helps parents discover, book, and enjoy local kid-friendly events with ease. I created 4kiddos because I was tired of spending hours searching for things to do with my kids. I wanted one place where families could find fun faster, and that’s what we’re building.

I also run Infusion Enterprises, a marketing agency where I support coaches, creators, and small business owners in growing their brands with clarity and confidence. What makes my work unique is that everything I build is shaped by real life—parenthood, passion, and the pursuit of freedom.

Right now, I’m focused on launching 4kiddos, growing our community of event hosts and partners, and helping other entrepreneurs turn their ideas into purpose-driven brands.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a curious, outspoken little girl who asked big questions and believed I could change things. I didn’t see limits. I didn’t shrink. I wasn’t trying to fit in or follow the rules. I was trying to understand the world and find my place in it.

Then life happened. Expectations piled on. I was told to tone it down, stay in line, and be realistic. And for a while, I listened. But underneath all of that, I never stopped dreaming. I never stopped building.

Now I’m returning to that girl. The one who speaks up, stands tall, and carves new paths. That’s what I’m doing with 4kiddos. That’s what I’m doing for my kids. And that’s what I want to help other women do, too. Remember who they were before the world convinced them to forget.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized it was the very thing that made me powerful. For years, I masked the hard parts of my story: being a single mom, being underestimated, and feeling burnt out trying to do everything right. But the moment I started telling the truth, everything changed.

People didn’t pull away. They leaned in. My honesty gave others permission to be real, too. That’s when I knew my pain had purpose. It became the foundation of my work. I stopped performing and started leading, not as a perfect woman, but as a present one.

That shift has shaped my parenting, my business, and my brand. I don’t run from my story. I use it to fuel the vision I’m building every day.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building systems that create freedom for women, especially mothers. For too long, we’ve been forced to choose between success and presence. I’m done with that lie. Through 4kiddos and my work with Infusion Enterprises, I’m building tools, platforms, and communities that support parents in living fully and building boldly.

This isn’t about quick wins or viral moments. It’s about long-term change. I want to show what’s possible when women are supported, resourced, and trusted with their vision. Whether it takes five years or fifty, I’m committed to building that world.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I changed how we think about learning. I challenged the idea that one-size-fits-all education works for every child. I want to be remembered as someone who created space for curiosity, creativity, and cultural relevance in how kids are taught.

I hope they say I helped parents feel empowered to take control of their children’s education. I built tools, systems, and communities that made learning more joyful, more personal, and more liberating for families, especially those who felt overlooked or unheard in traditional spaces.

More than anything, I want my legacy to reflect a shift. That was because I was here, more kids believed they were brilliant, more parents thought they had options, and more educators believed in doing things differently.
