Meet Madison Ingui of MadFit Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Ingui.

Madison Ingui

Hi Madison, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I graduated from Georgia Southern with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. After graduating, I moved back to my hometown, Monroe, and realized there was a need for a smaller scale, women’s only gym. In 2022, just 1 month post-partum after having my second child, MadFit Training was born! I started as just a personal training studio in a 500 sq ft room and have now grown into two spaces, one for personal training and one for group fitness classes, with over 100 members. I am so proud of the community I have created as a women’s only studio where you don’t feel judged or uncomfortable when you walk through our doors.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Is it ever a smooth road when you’re pursuing your dreams? Never! I didn’t expect to grow as quickly as I did. It is such a struggle to balance being mindful of what you can handle as a one man band with 2 kids & a husband but also wanting to grow and serve your community as much as you can. I’m lucky to have a husband who has whole heartedly not only supported my business even when I wasn’t making any money but has also comes to me with ideas to grow and strategies to make it work best at home. I typically always have one of my kids with me while I am at the gym and I believe that showing them how hard mommy works to give them the best life we can offer them is an amazing thing as well as my members seeing a mom who doesn’t put her work over her kids but also is able to serve and give the members whatever they need. My staff has also been a huge blessing to help my road be smoother. I’ve created a space where they, too, can work while having their kids by them. I have had so many doubts and felt imposter syndrome one too many times but I constantly remind myself that if this is how God wants me to serve him, hard decisions and tough days won’t stop me from giving a space for moms in our community.

As you know, we’re big fans of MadFit Training. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
MadFit Training is a local, female-owned personal training and group fitness studio located in downtown Monroe, GA. We truly care about the success of each and every client as our focus is on Personal Training. We offer 1:1 sessions or bootcamp classes that we aim to keep small so that each client gets the attention from the trainer that they need. Our gym is inclusive for all fitness levels. Whether you’re a new to the fitness world or a gym loving guru, we have a spot for you!

We offer childcare at every class so our moms have somewhere to drop their littles to play while they get a 45 minute workout in.

And, honestly, we’re not just a gym! We have such a tight knit community because of the quarterly events I try to hold. Our events offer a space for our members to get to know each other and foster genuine friendships. I’ve seen so many friendships start from two strangers at the gym and now see them outside of the gym on coffee dates with their littles!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
1. If you the opportunity presents itself, just start. I started my business at 1 month post-partum, that’s crazy, but I always wanted to open a gym and the opportunity presented it self so I didn’t hesitate and jumped!

2. The first 3 years are an absolute grind but it is so worth it. It’s long days, late nights, a lot of tears but if you keep your head down and work, you’ll be able to take a step back after those first few years of building your business. I am now able to enjoy my life with my kids & husband because I have hired amazing trainers who I can trust to run the gym while I’m not there.

3. Act like your business is the best thing since sliced bread and shout it from the rooftops. I don’t care if you only have 2 clients, you are the best at what you do and you need to believe that. If you don’t believe that, neither will anyone else.
