Life & Work with Brey Noelle of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brey Noelle.

Hi Brey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Thanks so much for valuing my story! I’m so happy to be here 🙂 I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and always had a natural flair for performance. Coming from a family of musicians, music was my main outlet through my growing up years. I was a classical pianist and started performing as a vocalist at the young age of 4 and eventually performed with multiple bands, touring groups and then began writing and performing my own music as well.

After graduating from Seattle Pacific University on a music scholarship with a Communications degree, I dove headfirst into the entertainment industry in LA doing music. My sister and I had a band in Seattle and started recording in LA as a duo. We ended up having some unexpected twists and turns with our music management, so when we pressed pause on our recording and performing – that’s when I started modeling, which then became my main platform of work.

I eventually started a youtube channel as a means to share my story in a fun and encouraging way. I have always been passionate about building others up and seeing those around me succeed, so I wanted a platform to use my own journey to help inspire others in theirs.

It’s actually through my YouTube channel that I was found and asked to be in a short film that was shooting in Nashville at the time. It was through that project that I was reminded of my love for acting and thus decided to get into acting class again. Thanks to my coach, Caroline Locorriere, I found the courage to get an agent and started booking commercials and films within months of signing.

Recently, the tv/film world has become my main avenue of work and expansion. I have landed multiple independent films, as well as 6 plus Lifetime Films, including multiple LEAD roles in the last few years. You can also now find me in the newest season of HBO’s PEACEMAKER as the DC Comics Character “White Rabbit” opposite John Cena. I also started expanding into script-writing and producing in addition to my acting roles. I’m always seeking to grow and expand in all areas of creative entrepreneurship and know that I am just scratching the surface. Keep your eyes peeled for the sci-fi feature film in which I am the LEAD entitled “The Living Tree”, coming out on streaming in the new year! This is the first film in which I was also a co-writer and co-producer! More fun to come!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh goodness… the challenge is real!! The creative entrepreneur, independent contractor life is not for the faint of heart! But I gotta say, following my dream and building it step by step has been the most rewarding process of my life! I will never forget when I hit a crossroads and decided to go ALL IN!! I followed my intuition and left everything consistent and stable and dove into the unknown – it’s been a roller-coaster ever since lol. Developing my mindset and heart-set has been the thing that’s kept me measured and sane in the ups and downs.
I’ve had to learn to focus my thoughts DAILY on the opportunities as opposed to the hurdles.
I’ve have to learn to see EVERY challenge and setback as an opportunity to grow and evolve.
I’ve had to learn to trust God in ways I never knew I would have to.
I’ve had to survive on pennies at times and I’ve had plenty at other times.
I’ve learned that my well-being and hope cannot be dependent on my success or what I see, because this is a journey that consists of 90% rejection, 10% success.
I’ve been told NO more than YES. And I’ve also SAID NO more than I’ve said YES to maintain my values and integrity.
I’ve had to develop the courage to fail over and over, to keep getting up and to keep going.
I’ve had people tear me down, and tear me apart, and I’ve lost some of the people I’ve trusted most.
Most of all, I’ve learned that my vision must be stronger than the setbacks and painful heartache I’ve had to go through to get here. It’s simply the cost of building a dream and the vision in my heart that I truly believe is God’s purpose for my life… and it’s worth it. The challenge is real… and it’s WORTH IT!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I guess I’m what they now call a Multi-Hyphenate lol. I am an actress-model-singer/songwriter- fiilmmaker-content creator! I’ve always been intentional about creating a multifaceted professional identity, but it took years to establish and wasn’t as accepted in the mainstream world until more recently. I’m grateful for that! Different aspects of my profession have been the focus at different times of my life. Music is what began my journey in the creative space, then modeling took form, then acting, and now I am doing all things in a way that has become my Personal Brand and Footprint in the world. I’ve been a full-time independent contractor in the creative space for the last 15 years! There have been no methods or formulas I could follow… I’ve just had to figure it out as I’ve gone!

Honestly, I think I’m most proud of having a healthy, multi-faceted life that I fought for alongside pursuing my dreams. We are told we have to choose between loves, but I believe we can have both and I stand by that. By God’s grace and a lot of intention, I have rich relationships, a solid team of integrity around me, a healthy heart that has been through a lot, and I STILL love what I do – seeing the beauty in the crazy journey that it’s been. I am proud of all the work I’ve put out there and that it keeps elevating. I’m also glad people can see the progress of all I’ve done, and I hope it inspires others to keep going on their own journeys of building their dreams!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was actually a really sensitive kid who was easily afraid! However, I was also very determined! I was a highly disciplined, dedicated, high-achiever, who was friends with everyone, loved to laugh and be adventurous! I did not like being limited to a single group or identity, instead I liked being involved in a variety of activities and being friends with a variety of people in all different groups. I was very independent yet cared deeply for my friends and family. I excelled at sports, music, performing arts and literally DID IT ALL! However, I did have a really difficult time with “people-pleasing” and battled deeply with perfectionism!
My family was very close growing up, so I loved baking and cooking with my mom and grandma, hosting holiday events and creating environments for friends to join in on family fun. I valued my relationships and my faith in addition to reaching my goals! I think the fear I had as a kid was actually beneficial for me in the long-run because I learned to overcome fear daily, starting at a very young age. It became “normal” for me to face my fears. Whenever I faced a fear, I was determined to conquer it and prove that I could get to the other side of it! (so maybe my pride helped a little there too haha)
