Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Comis.
Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my career in the mortgage industry and built a very successful business. During that time, in 2003, I worked with my first coach, and that experience not only helped me achieve bigger goals than I thought were possible—it completely changed my relationship with myself. It also created my passion for personal development and planted the seed for the work I do today.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had spent years with tunnel vision—pouring all my energy into growing my business. When the 2008 housing crash hit, and the business I loved and worked so hard to build crashed with it, so did my happiness and my identity. My career had become my life. I was so busy building my business that somewhere along the way, I had put my health, my relationships, and my real dreams on the back burner.
After five years of trying to reinvent my career and reignite my passion for my work, without luck, I finally realized it was time to move on.
That’s when I enrolled in an incredible coach and leadership training program and became a Certified Coach. The process completely changed how I saw myself, my career, and my life. I began setting boundaries, building confidence, and truly stepping into my power.
Since then, I’ve become a Professional Certified Coach through the ICF and gone even deeper in my training with Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy®, and hypnotherapy. Today, I combine traditional coaching with powerful subconscious reprogramming tools to support deep, lasting transformation both personally and professionally. Through personalized coaching, my clients don’t just change what they achieve—they become the happiest, healthiest, most confident version of themselves.
Looking back, I can see how everything—the highs and the lows—brought me here, to my purpose and the work I’m meant to do in the world.
Today, I have the opportunity to work with successful women who want more out of life—those ready to elevate their careers, health, and happiness in line with the life they truly want to live.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? No—not even close. I’ve definitely had my share of ups and downs. My coach training program taught me how to coach, but what it didn’t teach me was how to build and run a business.
I started my business because I wanted to be a coach, but I quickly learned that if I wanted to succeed, I had to wear all the hats—CFO, operations, admin… and the big ones I had to figure out: marketing and sales. And on top of all that, I still needed to coach my clients. Honestly, being a business owner is like its own personal development program—haha! Every challenge forced me to grow in ways I never expected, and those lessons shaped me into the person I am today. I love and appreciate this version of me, and it allows me to support my clients on a much deeper level.
Those struggles gave me resilience, compassion, and a deeper understanding of what it really takes to push through fear and self-doubt. That’s exactly the perspective I bring to my clients—because I’ve been there too.
It certainly hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows—there have been plenty of tough seasons along the way—but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love the work I get to do every day, and I’m so grateful for this journey. When my clients hit their goals, break through barriers, and transform their lives, it feels just as incredible as if it were my own success. Helping people become the happiest, healthiest, and most confident versions of themselves—and watching them create lives that truly fulfill them inside and out—is the work I’m meant to do in this world.
As you know, we’re big fans of Nicole Comis Coaching. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Nicole Comis Coaching, I work with successful women who are ready for more—not just in their career, but in their health, relationships, and overall happiness. My work is all about helping women become the happiest, healthiest, and most confident version of themselves, so they can create a life that truly fulfills them from the inside out.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on surface-level coaching. I combine traditional coaching with neuroscience and powerful subconscious tools to help my clients create deep, lasting transformation both personally and professionally.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my coaching is relatable, approachable, and truly transformative. My clients know that when they work with me, they’re not just getting a coach—they’re getting a partner who is deeply invested in their success and willing to get messy with them. I’m known for creating a safe, supportive space where people can be real, say what’s really on their mind, and do the deep work that changes everything. Beyond weekly sessions, my clients also get unlimited access to me between sessions—for coaching, feedback, accountability, and support, and just as importantly, to celebrate their wins and successes along the way.
What I want readers to know is this: you don’t have to do more or hustle harder. Real success comes from aligning your beliefs and actions with your vision, your values, and the life you actually want to live. Because when you take ownership of your life—your mindset, your health, your choices—you don’t just succeed, you thrive. You build a life that’s truly fulfilling, inside and out.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe having a mentor is great, but having someone by your side to help you discover the answers within yourself is truly life-changing. That’s the power of coaching!
When you’re looking for a coach or mentor, the most important thing is to find someone you feel safe with—safe to be open, honest, and even say the things you’ve never said out loud. A great coach won’t just give you advice; they’ll help you uncover your own answers and make decisions that are aligned with who you are and the life you want to create. The right coach helps you create clarity, release resistance, and take intentional action.
I also believe it’s important to find someone who’s walking the talk—someone who is committed to their own personal development and continually growing themselves. And while there are many incredible coaches out there, there are also some not-so-great ones. That’s why I always recommend looking for someone who is trained, certified, and truly invested in your growth—not just giving advice, but helping you transform into the person you want to become.
