Hi Taria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my loc journey by accident—my children’s father wanted dreads, and after his first appointment, he decided I’d be the only one to do them. I learned everything I could from YouTube, fell in love with the process, and turned it into a service. Charging just $50, I made over $1,000 in my first week, which pushed me to pursue it seriously. I enrolled at Paul Mitchell The School Atlanta, paused when life called me to focus on family, and now I’m back—fully dedicated to chasing my dream, building my brand and future in hair!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes—when I got pregnant with my second son, I had to step away from hair school and put my dream on hold for two years. It wasn’t easy, but coming back after that break made me even more determined to succeed

I’m a loctician specializing in starting and maintaining healthy, natural locs.

For giving clients more than just a style—I make sure their hair stays healthy and they feel confident when they leave my chair.

Turning something I learned on YouTube into a business that made over $1,000 in its first week—and never giving up on my dream, even after pausing to raise my family.

My journey. I didn’t just study locs—I lived them. That experience helps me connect with clients on a deeper level and provide care that’s both professional and personal.
