Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Salcedo.
Hi Diego, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began more than two decades ago when I arrived in the United States from Argentina with nothing but a suitcase and a dream. Starting over in a new country was not easy. I faced language barriers, uncertainty, and the challenge of building a future from the ground up. What could have been a story of limitation became one of resilience and reinvention.
With a background in architecture, I learned early how space, light, and design shape the way we experience life. That perspective became the foundation of my artistic vision when photography entered my path, not just as a profession, but as a way to capture what words often fail to express: emotion, connection, and legacy. Over the years, what started as a simple passion turned into Diego’s Photography, where I’ve had the privilege of documenting families, entrepreneurs, and milestone celebrations across Atlanta. Each portrait and event is more than an image; it’s a story that will outlive us.
Today, together with my wife and creative partner, we’ve expanded our vision into Evo Space & Studio and Trendy Fun Party, platforms that merge art, community, and celebration. Our mission is clear: to create experiences that inspire, connect, and leave a lasting impact. My story is not about photography alone; it’s about using creativity as a bridge, showing others that even when you start with little, you can build something meaningful that touches lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been anything but smooth. When I first arrived in the U.S., I leaned on my background in architecture and began working in that field. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t where I was meant to be. I felt something was missing: a way to connect more directly with people and tell their stories. That realization was both painful and liberating, because it meant I had to let go of stability to search for purpose.
Starting over in a new country brought language barriers, financial uncertainty, and the pressure of building a future from scratch. There were moments when I doubted if I would ever find my true path. Yet those challenges pushed me to embrace photography, not just as a profession but as a calling. Every obstacle, from reinventing myself in a competitive market to balancing family and business, shaped the resilience and vision I carry today. Without that journey, I wouldn’t have discovered the work that truly fulfills me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an artist and creative, my work lives at the intersection of emotion, storytelling, and design. With a background in architecture, I approach photography not only as an image-maker but as someone who understands space, light, and composition at a deeper level. What I do best is transform moments into legacies, whether through portraits, branding, or milestone celebrations.
I specialize in capturing the essence of people, their strength, vulnerability, and individuality. Clients often tell me that my images feel more like windows into who they are rather than just photographs. That ability to create connection is what sets me apart; it is not about posing people, it is about guiding them to feel comfortable enough that their true selves shine through.
What I am most proud of is that my work extends beyond photography; it builds trust, preserves family histories, and enhances both personal and professional brands. Whether I am photographing a CEO, a quinceañera, or a family, my goal is always the same: to create timeless images that inspire pride today and meaning for generations to come.
How do you think about happiness?
What truly makes me happy is seeing transformations in people. When someone steps in front of my camera, often they come with insecurities or doubts, and the greatest joy for me is helping them see themselves in a new light. Watching someone’s face change when they realize their own beauty, strength, or confidence is priceless. Photography becomes more than an image; it becomes a mirror that elevates self-esteem and restores belief in who they are.
I am also happiest when I turn visions into reality, whether it is bringing an artistic idea to life, creating an atmosphere in Evo Space & Studio, or helping a family preserve their legacy through portraits. Happiness for me is tied to connection and impact, knowing that what I create can inspire pride today and hope for tomorrow.
