Conversations with Lindsay Navarro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Navarro.

Hi Lindsay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was just 12 years old, I went on my very first overseas mission trip to the country of Panama. I absolutely fell in love with missions and since then have said I wanted to be a missionary. From age 12 to 17, I went on several short term missions trips and love them all. Once I graduated high school, I took a GAP year and went to Costa Rica for 9 months. It was there that I took Bible and Spanish classes as well as immersed in the culture and did mission work. While there, I truly made my faith my own. I believe I was saved at a young age, but it was until post high school that I knew for sure. After I graduated from my GAP year, I went to college where I got my Associates in Spanish and my Bachelor’s in Social Work. Once I graduated, I was unsure of career I wanted to do. I had some odd jobs and still did some short term mission work. One afternoon, I got a text from a friend about going on a service trip to Romania. I of course agreed and it happened to be with Chosen Vessels. I honestly didn’t think I would ever be back. Fast forward a couple of months, I went to live in Mexico for 2 months and while there, Chosen Vessels served me. Once I returned to the States, I was offered an Internship position with Chosen Vessels, which later turned into a full-time job. I now have traveled to many different countries and work full-time as Chosen Vessels’ Missions Coordinator.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. In fact, many times I did not know what would be next. This probably has been the biggest struggle. Once my time ended in each of these places, I was stuck in the “what’s next”. I have seen the Lord provide through each step.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work for a non-profit called Chosen Vessels. While we are based out of Acworth, Ga, we provide care all over the world. We seek to encourage, empower, and equip leaders in ministry around the globe. One way that I like to sum up what we do is “we serve those that serve.” I serve as the Mission’s Coordinator for Chosen Vessels. I provide help for both our Executive Director and our Global Member Care Coordinator and Content Producer. I help plan for trips, serve as a leader on our trips, as well as help execute fundraising. Something that I am proud of is stepping out of my comfort zone in leading a trip. I was very nervous to do so, and yet, the Lord was there every step and it went very well. Something that I believe sets Chosen Vessels apart from most is that all of our services are free of charge to those that we serve! This is such an honor to be able to do this, and yet, we need the help of those around us to give in order to be able to do so!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Within my two years of working for Chosen Vessels, we have grown both in the amount people that we serve and our staff. As Member Care begins to grow and others see the significance in it, I believe that Chosen Vessels will continue to grow in those desiring care from us. My hope is that others will come alongside us and support in this work that we know is so important.

Pricing:

  • Our services are free of charge to those that we serve.
  • We, however, do need help in fundraising to be able to provide these services!
